“There’s a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.” — Leonard Cohen
It’s not always easy to ask for help. You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to begin — and that’s okay. Therapy doesn’t ask you to have it all figured out. It offers a space where the noise can soften and something steadier can begin to take shape.
Welcome to Crystallise Psychotherapy® — a calm, inclusive space for thoughtful, trauma-informed therapy.
I’m Owen Smith (he/him), an accredited humanistic and integrative psychotherapist and CORU-registered social worker. I offer online and in-person therapy to adults across Ireland, the UK, and Europe, working with individuals, couples, and multi-partnered relationships.
Clients come to therapy for many different reasons - relationship issues, anxiety, shame, grief, infidelity, identity questions, out of control or compulsive sexual behaviour (CSB), or a sense that something just isn’t quite right. You don’t need to arrive with it all figured out. You’re welcome just as you are.
My approach is LGBTQ+ affirming, sex-positive, and trauma-informed. I work relationally, with a focus on safety, emotional depth, and collaborative exploration. Whether you're navigating complex relationship dynamics, exploring parts of your identity, or working through something painful from the past, therapy can offer a steady and respectful space to begin loosening the weight of what’s been carried.
I draw from a range of approaches in my work, shaped by professional training in attachment theory, trauma therapy, grief and bereavement, and compulsive sexual behaviour (CSB). I’ve also completed advanced training in relationship therapy and am currently undertaking further postgraduate training in psychosexual and relationship therapy, as well as EMDR therapy.
Some of the themes I often work with include:
Relationship issues (including infidelity, communication, and intimacy)
LGBTQ+ identity and life experiences
Compulsive sexual behaviour, including pornography
Shame, low self-worth, and the impact of early relational wounds
Trauma and its effects on the body, emotions, and relationships
Loss and grief in its many forms — including ambiguous, disenfranchised, or identity-related grief
My practice is grounded in the belief that therapy should be non-judgemental, non-pathologising, and collaborative. I aim to meet you with care, curiosity, and respect — recognising that each person carries their own story and survival strategies. Together, we can explore what you want life to feel like — not just what you want to stop doing or fix.
I understand that starting therapy can feel vulnerable, especially if you’ve had difficult or shaming experiences in the past. My hope is to offer a space where you don’t have to shrink or edit yourself. Where silence, uncertainty, and tenderness are all welcome.
Sessions are 50 minutes long and available both in-person (from two central Dublin locations) and online via Zoom.
Sometimes, healing begins in the quietest moments — in being gently witnessed, not rushed. Therapy, at its best, can help you return to yourself.
