I attended Jacqueline over ten years ago when I lived in Dublin. I attended various acupuncture clinics since moving elsewhere. No one comes close to Jacqueline. She is in a league of her own. I only wish I lived near her clinic again. Cannot recommend her highly enough!

I had 6 sessions of acupuncture from Ken OConnor such a lovely man. Made me relax straight away. I suffer from bad back pain and didnt want to have to take painkillers all the time. So i'm feeling a lot better. And haven't taken tablets in 3 weeks tg. I would highly recommend Ken to help you.

I opened the Mei Zen Clinic of Acupuncture in 2009. I'm registered with the which is one of the longest established and is the largest regulatory body for acupuncture and Chinese medicine in Ireland. What is acupuncture? Acupuncture is one of the oldest, most commonly used systems of healing in the world. Originating in China some 3,500 years ago, only in the last three decades has it become popular in the United States Traditional Chinese medicine holds that there are as many as 2,000 acupuncture points on the human body, which are connected by 20 pathways (12 main, 8 secondary) called meridians. These meridians conduct energy, or qi (pronounced "chi"), between the surface of the body and its internal organs. Each point has a different effect on the qi that passes through it. Qi is believed to help regulate balance in the body. It is influenced by the opposing forces of yin and yang, representing positive and negative energy and forces in the universe and the human body. Acupuncture is believed to keep the balance between yin and yang, thus allowing for the normal flow of qi throughout the body and restoring health to the mind and body. Does it hurt? Unlike hypodermic needles, acupuncture needles are solid and hair-thin, and they are not designed to cut the skin. They are also inserted to much more shallow

It is approx. 4 miles from Ballineen/Enniskean and 6 miles from Clonakilty. On a first visit, I will take a full medical history and talk to you in depth about your health problem. The appropriate treatment will then follow. A first visit with treatment will usually take  up to 1 hour 30 mins. Subsequent visits will be from 45 mins to 1 hour. All acupuncture needles used are single use and pre-sterilised in accordance with Acupuncture Council of Ireland code of practice.   Appointments available between 9am - 9pm  Mon - Fri. and 2pm - 6pm Sat.  Visits by appointment only.

Allergy Testing up to €40
Many people find an improvement in their health and wellbeing when they eliminate certain foods and other items such as some  toiletries, cosmetics from their lifesytle. Allergy( or,more correctly, intolerance) testing pinpoints , through Kinesiology, those foods and substances which may be creating ill health. The patient simply touches the suspect food , whilst the practitioner tests the reflex of the anterior deltoid muscle (in the upper arm). If the patient is able to hold the arm up, the food is okay. If, however, the muscle feels weak and the patient cannot hold it up, then the food is a stress to the patient. Further testing can be done to ascertain which specific system of the body is being challenged by the substance and also to pinpoint which remedies (nutritional or homeopathic) may be beneficial.

It can successfully treat for headaches, sinuses, IBS ,back problems and many other complaints.  Maternity Reflexology pregnancy is a beautiful time in a woman's life, as the baby develops and grows he/she can put a strain on the mother's changing body. Reflexology is a wonderful therapy which can really help discomfort and minor disorders of pregnancy. Reflexology can help reduce morning sickness which persists past 3 months. It is recommended by the National Maternity Hospital, Holles St., Dublin. One treatment a month after the first trimester is hugely beneficial. Each treatment is tailored to reflect the changes in the expectant mother's body. It can help relieve heartburn, indigestion, constipation,low back pain, labour sciatica and sympysis pubis diastis. It prepares the body for labour by balancing the body systems, the length of labour can be reduced. Baby's born to mothers who have had reflexology treatments during pregnancy more content.
