Acupuncturist Consultation (1 hour)
A detailed medical history is taken including questions about the patients diet and lifestyle and anything else relevant to a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) diagnosis. A tongue and pulse diagnosis is also made. Treatment is then given accordingly. The first treatment is included in the consultation fee. For this reason, first appointments may take 1hour to 1hour 30mins. Subsequent appointments will take from 45 mins to 1 hour depending on what the patient is being treated for.( At least 3-4 treatments are usually required, though not always.) Treatment consists of inserting very fine needles into pre-determined points on the face, body ,arms or legs. Discomfort is usually minimal and subsides once the needle is in situ. They are usually left in place for up to 30 mins. Sometimes they are warmed with a lighted herbal roll called " moxa". This can re-inforce a treatment and also transfer heat into the body where necessary. Patients generally find this extremely relaxing. Another type of treatment called "cupping" may also be used, before or after acupuncture. This consists of applying suction cups to the skin (usually on the back or shoulders) and dragging the cup along the area . This is good for muscle problems and soreness and stiffness. It moves the blood and eases stagnation. Acupuncture  can be safely used alongside most western medical treatments or medications or alone and can help or totally alleviate almost any condition.
Fertility Acupuncture

Assessment of the patients health and a complete medical history is taken, including tongue and pulse diagnosis. Current or past fertility treatments/pregnancies are also taken into account. Treatment is with acupuncture, homeopathy and dietary/ lifestyle advice. Acupuncture can be used  in conjunction with IVF and will improve the chances of its success. A course of treatments, tailored to the patient's individual needs, will be necessary. Point prescriptions vary according to the phases of the  menstrual cycle, so it is important to persevere with the treatments over several months in order to achieve the desired results.

General Practice

Allergy Testing (45 mins)
Many people find an improvement in their health and wellbeing when they eliminate certain foods and other items such as some  toiletries, cosmetics from their lifesytle. Allergy( or,more correctly, intolerance) testing pinpoints , through Kinesiology, those foods and substances which may be creating ill health. The patient simply touches the suspect food , whilst the practitioner tests the reflex of the anterior deltoid muscle (in the upper arm). If the patient is able to hold the arm up, the food is okay. If, however, the muscle feels weak and the patient cannot hold it up, then the food is a stress to the patient. Further testing can be done to ascertain which specific system of the body is being challenged by the substance and also to pinpoint which remedies (nutritional or homeopathic) may be beneficial.

Massage Therapy

Tui Na Massage

TuiNa is Chinese therapeutic massage which uses acupressure, rubbing and rolling techniques  and is used primarily for musculo-skeletal problems such as frozen shoulder, sciatica, strained muscles and general stiffness or aches and pains. It can be used in conjunction with acupuncture or alone depending on the individual patient. It is ideal for patients who dislike the idea of needles. An appropriate massage oil is generally used and exercises may be given for the patient to do at home. It is a deep, strong massage and highly effective.

Holistic Health Consultation (1 hour)
This is part of the integral package of any consultation at the clinic. The patients diet and lifestyle are assessed and recommendations given.

Homeopath Consultation
Homeopathy at the clinic is practised from a Chinese Medicine Five Elements perspective rather than Classical Homeopathy. Again, the patients health background is assessed including the health background of the patients parents and siblings but the seasons are also taken into account (i.e. the time of year when the problem manifested; when it is worse/better etc). Homeopathy can be used alone or alongside acupuncture.

Cosmetic Acupuncture (1 hour 20 mins, 15 sessions)

Small, fine needles are inserted into acupoints and lines on the face to stimulate blood flow and collagen production. A course of 15 treatments is recommended over ten weeks for best results. The face appears rejuvenated, lines are reduced and a lifting effect is obtained. Results may vary according to the age of the patient and the degree of skin sagging and wrinkling. The treatment is completed by the application of a nourishing, natural face mask and light facial massage.Prices shown are per session. (Make-up sessions not available)
