All the staff are very professional and attentiveAmanda, Turkey, 01 05 25

I had lens replacement surgery with Associate Professor of ophthalmology Dr Derda Oder at BHT clinic in Istanbul. From the initial contact with him to the end he was very down to earth, transparent, friendly, knowledgeable and compassionate. I had researched and contacted many surgeons. He suggested lenses that would be suitable for each eye and on examining me when I got there, decided one eye needed a different lens which was £150 less. He immediately informed me. He is an excellent surgeon and Hasan, his lovely, capable interpreter was there for me at all times. All the staff are very professional and attentive. The surgery went well and the aftercare was very good. On my last visit, Dr Derda said to contact them at any time if I have any questions or concerns, gave me lifetime lens passports and told me any time I was in Turkey I was to come and have a free assessment. Dr Derda is also very well priced and I’m absolutely thrilled to throw away glasses that I’ve been wearing for many decades. I highly recommend Dr Derda and his team. You can see his work on his Instagram page, including various eye surgeries. He has been involved in many studies in the past and ongoing.

Prosthetic - Eyes $2304 - $3455
A prosthetic eye, also known as an ocular prosthesis, is a custom-made artificial eye designed to replace an eye lost due to injury, disease, or congenital absence. Prosthetic eyes are intended to enhance cosmetic appearance, maintain facial symmetry, and improve self-confidence following eye loss. Procedure Steps: Consultation and Preparation: An ocularist (a specialist trained in making artificial eyes) evaluates your individual needs, takes detailed measurements, and prepares the eye socket. Impression: A precise impression of the eye socket is made to ensure a perfect, comfortable fit. Fabrication: The prosthetic eye is carefully handcrafted and painted to match the color, size, and appearance of your natural eye. Fitting: The completed prosthesis is placed into the socket, where it is carefully adjusted for comfort and a natural appearance. Follow-up: Regular follow-up appointments are necessary to ensure comfort, proper fit, and address any concerns or adjustments needed over time. Benefits: Prosthetic eyes significantly enhance aesthetic appearance and facial symmetry, providing psychological comfort and improved self-esteem. They also help protect the socket from environmental factors such as dust and debris. Risks: While prosthetic eyes are generally safe, risks include irritation, discomfort, infection, or discharge. These issues can typically be managed through proper care, hygiene, and routine visits with the ocularist or healthcare provider.

Cataract Surgery $806 - $3455
Cataract surgery is a safe and effective treatment to restore clear vision for those affected by cataracts. The surgery involves removing the cloudy lens from the eye and replacing it with a clear, artificial lens called an intraocular lens (IOL). This procedure is typically performed on an outpatient basis, which means you can go home the same day. Procedure Steps: Preparation: Your eye will be numbed with drops, and you may be given medication to help you relax.Incision: The surgeon makes a small incision in the eye to access the lens.Lens Removal: Using a technique called phacoemulsification, the cloudy lens is broken up with ultrasound waves and then gently suctioned out.IOL Implantation: A foldable IOL is inserted through the incision and positioned into the lens capsule of your eye.Completion: The incision is usually self-sealing and does not require stitches.Recovery: Most people notice an improvement in their vision soon after surgery, though complete healing and vision stabilization can take a few weeks. You will need to use prescribed eye drops to help prevent infection and inflammation during this period. Benefits: Cataract surgery not only improves visual clarity but also enhances the quality of life by restoring your ability to perform daily activities with better vision. Risks: While cataract surgery is highly successful, as with any surgery, there are potential risks, such as infection, bleeding, or changes in eye pressure, which are rare and typically manageable.

The professionalism and care I received exceeded my expectationsHoucine, UK, 24 12 24

I recently had an incredible experience with Dr. Osman Tuğrul Güzeldir and the team at Koru Private Hospital. From start to finish, everything was perfectly organized by Mehmet Emin Karagöz, who ensured every detail was taken care of – from pick-up to scheduling appointments with the doctors, addressing my concerns, and making sure I was comfortable throughout the process. Dr. Osman Tuğrul Güzeldir was exceptional. He was well-spoken, straightforward, and took the time to clearly explain the procedure and what to expect. His professionalism and skill gave me complete confidence, and I am very happy with the results. The staff and facilities at Koru Private Hospital were equally impressive. The professionalism and care I received exceeded my expectations, making this a truly positive and seamless experience. Highly recommended!

The Doctor and his team were extremely organized, and very detailedAmanze, Turkey, 01 02 24

I contacted the hospital at night requesting a possible surgery the next day so I could still catch my flight the day after. The Doctor and his team were extremely organized, and very detailed and ensured I had a successful surgery. I was able to catch my flight the next day out of Istanbul without any medical issues. I was booked for a free eye check during my next visit to Istanbul to confirm that my eyes were in perfect condition. Special thanks to Abdurahym who made our English-Turkish communication easy and to Prof. Dr. Ahmet Satici for diligently explaining and handling the process efficiently. Your team remains the best!

Best decision ever in my life, I strongly recommend this clinic and its whole teamFrank, US, 09 11 23

Awesome team of health providers. The premises are equipped with multiple floors of state of art equipment just for the preliminary eye exam and diagnostic all the way to the sophisticated surgical level. On day one my ( International clinical coordinator ) walked me through the whole process, educating me in regards to this matter such as selecting my HD Alcon trifocal lenses, through the whole clinical procedure, coordinating my trip from the USA to Antalya and translating for me in English ’til the day I was fully dismissed by the Dr. Upon discharge he even walked me out to help me get my Taxi, he is just a kind awesome soul !! fully attentive and knowledgeable about the details pertaining to my operation (Natural Lense exchange and Cataract removal ), it took only three short roundtrips to the Clinic to complete, and little did I know I was rejuvenated with a High Definition close, mid, and far-range vision, in less than 30 min procedure, it sounds intimidating but for them, this is the daily routine. Best decision ever in my life, I strongly recommend this clinic and its whole team. A +++++

David Cheung- Oculoplastic Surgeon - Plastic Surgery Clinic in the UK

I am now 5 months post-op and the results of the work are nothing short of amazingKirsten, UK, 14 05 21

I have long known that the one elective surgery I would undertake was blepharoplasty, due to drooping lids at a young age. I chose to have a consultation with David after undertaking research.  There was no question of me going abroad to have any procedure done.  It may be cheaper,  but the potential for something to go wrong, the language barrier and aftercare needs meant staying in the UK was paramount. I went to David with thoughts of upper and lower blepharoplasty (dark circles under eyes).  David was very friendly,  easy to talk to, explaining about every element of the procedures, taking measurements,  doing drawings, really listening to me and understanding my reasons for wanting the op.  Crucially he explained why I was not a suitable candidate for lowers and why alternatives (e.g. fillers) would also not work for me. Being very risk-averse I went away from the first consultation armed with lots of information supplied by David and decided not to go ahead.  After 18 further months of deliberation and research, I decided to go ahead and booked a further consultation. Shortly afterwards I undertook the procedure at the Westbourne Centre in Birmingham.   From start to finish of the whole process I cannot fault all of the staff I encountered.  All so very polite, friendly and caring, putting me at ease. Throughout the procedure, David was his usual calm, reassuring,  friendly and humorous self.   I had approximately 13mm taken from each upper.   I have a medium tolerance to pain and can honestly say the most painful part was administering a local anaesthetic to the inner corners of the area nearest my eyebrows (and even that wasn’t so bad).  During the operation, I experienced no pain,  just a sensation that something was happening around the area.  I concentrated on staying calm and listening to David's eclectic operating music list and chatting to him and the theatre staff. Post-surgery I was very well briefed on what to expect and instructions to follow (which I did to the letter).  The rest of the day after surgery was uncomfortable but after that,  no problems.  It actually looked worse than it felt. I am now 5 months post-op and the results of the work are nothing short of amazing.   I no longer look tired and angry,  I wear only the lightest of eye makeup to achieve the look that I couldn’t achieve before and it has bolstered my self-esteem no end.  Thank you so much, David, I would (and have) recommended you to several people for a job well done.  My only wish is that I’d done it sooner!
