A crown covers, or "caps", a tooth to restore its normal shape and size. It will provide full coverage of the underlying tooth hence strengthening and improving the appearance of a tooth. Crowns are necessary when a tooth is extensively broken down. If a tooth is cracked it is often is the only treatment option available. It will hold the tooth together and protect it so the damage doesnt get worse. If a tooth has been root treated we may often recommend a crown as the resulting tooth will be weak, brittle and liable to fracture.

Rating from 10 Reviews I now have a lovely straight smileMaria, Ireland, 08 Aug 17

I had crowns on my front teeth for 15 years. They were misaligned and I did not like my smile. After having dental work to stabilize my oral care, I had my crowns replaced and I now have a lovely straight smile. The clinic has very friendly and professional staff. It is also a child-friendly environment. There is a play room and my children love going there for check ups. My husband and I, along with our 4 children now attend the clinic.

Rating from 3 Reviews Hate having teeth cleaned so she offered to hold my hand!Anonymous, Ireland, 18 Oct 15

I had basic teeth cleaning (which I hate) but this clinic was really amazing. I hate having my teeth cleaned and so I generally tend to put it off. Even though I was late to my appointment the staff in the clinic were incredibly friendly and helpful nothing was too much of an imposition. When I told the nurse that I was very nervous about dentists she even offered to hold my hand! The hygienist was called Orla and she was so patient and so kind I cannot begin to tell you how much she puts my mind at ease. She was lovely and kind throughout the treatment, which was not in the least bit uncomfortable. I paid 50 Euro which when you consider that was two staff working on the full time for almost an hour is very good value. I have been looking for ages for a really good dental clinic and I cannot fault this one. I was so surprised when I walked into this clinic. Everything was brand-new. It was bright and clean and really modern. Going to the dentist is a real chore but this space is very reassuring. It's very easy to find just around the corner from Easons. After my treatment I was able to go for a nice coffee and I wasn't in the least bit sensitive.

Rating from 20 Reviews The doctor was reassuring and talked me through every step of my treatmentMrs_Sarah, Ireland, 08 Apr 18

Dr Niall McCarthy is a fantastic dentist. I have always had a fear of going to the dentist because of bad experiences in the past. However, Dr Niall McCarthy made me feel at ease straight away. He was reassuring and talked me through every step of my treatment. I couldn't believe that an injection and filling could be pain-free but it was. He even gave me fantastic advice about caring for my teeth to prevent further problems. I highly recommend him
