Shields Dental & Implant Clinic

I had a root canal done at Shields Dental with Dr. Fida last year. I waited until now to review so I could see how the tooth healed, and I’m glad to say it has healed really well with no issues since.

The procedure itself was extremely painful for me, which I wasn’t expecting, as I had been told I shouldn’t feel pain. Dr. Fida did explain beforehand that my tooth was inflamed and would be a complex case, and I now understand that can make pain harder to control even with anaesthetic. Still, had I known it was going to be that painful, I honestly would have chosen to have the tooth pulled instead, and I feel patients should be given that option if they prefer extraction over the risk of pain during a root canal.

That said, Dr. Fida was professional and friendly throughout, and the outcome was successful. I’m grateful the infection was cleared and the tooth saved, though I do think clearer expectations around pain would have made the experience easier to process.

I got a root canal done today at the Limerick clinic, and the professionalism was evident from the moment I walked in the door.

I was very nervous, but Fida provided reassurance and comfort the entire time. The whole experience was completely painless.

Fida, the orthodontist, communicated with me throughout the procedure. I now feel great, with no pain at all, after suffering from a very painful tooth.

Dr Fida and Dr Pierre did complex microsurgery some days ago. What an excellent team. It was a 2-hour surgery and my experience was so positive. I followed their advice re ice packs ...5mns on and 5 mns off after surgery for a no of hours and this paid off. No bruising or swelling the following day. I was so pleasantly surprised I did not need pain relief afterwards. Antibiotics and steroids worked well plus mouthwash and gel. Gentle music in the background on the day certainly was calming plus their soothing voices as they operated. I am extremely grateful to them for such excellence.

As an extremely nervous patient, I found all the staff reassuring and sympathetic. Had quite a lot of work done, all pain-free, may I add. I have recommended Shields to many since, and personally wouldn't consider going anywhere else.

I have been attending the Limerick Clinic with Dr Sinead for the last few weeks. Dr Sinead is highly efficient very professional and takes a great interest in the patient and her work. The facilities are fabulous and the staff very friendly and efficient.

I've been visiting Shields Dental for the last number of years for various dental procedures, mostly routine. Their service is always punctual, friendly, and reasonably priced. I find it helpful that I am given a clear picture of what treatment will be given & the likely outcome. A few weeks ago I had a toothache, phoned early that morning & was seen that afternoon, problem solved! Thank you to all at Shields.

I rung up this morning to try and get an appointment my dentist, unfortunately, he was on holiday so they were able to fit me in with Dr Raz. He was amazing. I had an extraction and the tooth fractured but he put me at ease all the way through. I never felt a thing. His care was second to none.

I went to Shields dental as I had a cracked dental bridge I was extremely nervous that there was damage done to my teeth underneath. Cormac was so professional and made me feel confident that it would be ok. I came away with a temporary bridge and had a replacement fitted 2 weeks later. Cormac is skilled and professional and can highly recommend the practice.

I just wanted to thank to Dr Chris for his excellent work on my very complicated set of teeth. I had a denture very wavy and uneven made somewhere else before and I could never use it, giving me trouble eating and chewing anything. I was very upset because if it when I finally found Shields Dental Clinic accidentally online. Dr Chris offered me to refurbish this existing but not working denture. He went up and down, sacrificed his own time to make sure that it will be perfect for me. He actually made gold from nothing and now it fits so well that I keep forgetting that it is not my own.
I am so happy I found this clinic and I would not change it for any other ones. All staff members are very kind and professional and I know that I am in the best hands. Million thanks for Dr Chris and the team. Elizabeth.

Dentist and dental nurse were excellent , very professional and reassuring !
Reception staff left a lot to be desired , very rude and unfriendly both on the phone and in person !! It’s a shame as the clinic is lovely and clean , just the reception staff could do with learning how to be a bit more professional . I left the clinic very irritated and upset by the encounter with the receptionist

I was so impressed from start to finish with shields dental practice. I started going to them in their Castletroy practice last year and from the girls on reception to the dental nurses/hygienist/ dentists including Zena and the lovely dentist who whitened my teeth (with glasses) I was overwhelmed with how professional and friendly everyone was. This year I was referred to Cormac he was absolutely superb. I needed a specific treatment for my teeth grinding as well as a crown. Not only was he extremely professional but also super caring and brought me back for 2 further check-ups to ensure all was well. Both practices in Castletroy and south circular rd are so modern with a lovely homely feel to it coffee making machine facility’s a clinic coordinator to advise of delays and fantastic adds on their tv that explains dental issues in a very clear easily understood way. Well done shields and all your staff ... SUPERB

I had crowns on my front teeth for 15 years. They were misaligned and I did not like my smile. After having dental work to stabilize my oral care, I had my crowns replaced and I now have a lovely straight smile.

The clinic has very friendly and professional staff. It is also a child-friendly environment. There is a play room and my children love going there for check ups. My husband and I, along with our 4 children now attend the clinic.

A great experience I would go to the dentist regularly over the years. The shields dental clinic is the best by far. They are now our family dentist and would highly recommend them. In all the years going to the dentist it's probably the first time getting a proper check up.
