After a lot of research, I decided to make an appointment at Shields Dental. I needed a few crowns and a bridge. I was so impressed with their website that I made the decision to travel a two-hour journey and have a chat about what I wanted. From the moment I entered the clinic, the atmosphere was happy and relaxed, especially with Anne in reception. My appointment was with Cormac and I was put at ease instantly. All my options were explained, and the cost was also discussed. I felt the whole experience was first class and I’m totally happy with the work carried out. I’m delighted I chose Shields Dental & Implant Clinic in Roscrea. I can recommend them 100%.

A "Direct" Composite filling is a tooth colored filling that is done in a single office visit. It is most appropriate for small restorations. The composite material is bonded to the tooth structure allowing conservation of as much natural tooth structure as possible. Direct Composite fillings are not for every tooth. They work best in small restorations and low-stress areas. Therefore they are not always suitable to fill large cavities at the back of the mouth. They are also more costly than silver fillings because they take longer to place. Research has shown that they do not last as long as other restorations.
