The entire process went a lot swifter than I expectedCharle, Ireland, 24 04 18

I considered four or five clinics for my dental implants but chose this one because it seemed the more accessible option. My implants took three visits in total, and I’ll be back in June for another check-up. I received high-quality treatment and the dentist explained everything with such care - his attention to detail was superb. I was given all the information to make the best possible decision for myself. The clinic really impressed me: everything looked professional, and they had only the best, state-of-the-art equipment. The receptionists were friendly and spoke perfect English (which is rare!). Only once I understood everything, did we go forth with the procedure. The entire process went a lot swifter than I expected. Some other dentists carried on at length about the complications involved with dental implants, but this was total rubbish. The surgery went smoothly, and Budapest is such a beautiful city. I managed to get a bonus holiday out of the deal as well! I’d definitely recommend them to others.

Although The assessment didn't work out for me the consideration and advice was excellentIain, UK, 04 03 18

The clinic and staff were very welcoming and professional. Although The assessment didn't work out for me the consideration and advice were excellent. I was met at the airport and taken to the clinic, the driver was courteous and chatted to me in English. The experience of the clinic was second to none and although I did not go ahead with the treatment I was still treated well and taken back to catch my return flight. I would recommend Evergreen to anyone thinking of having dental treatment.

I'm smiling because I now finally have a great smile that I'm proud to show off to the worldAdrian, UK, 14 05 18

Fantastic! I needed 19 crowns in total - 10 upper and 9 lower. I also required 8 fillings replaced with white composite to replace the current amalgam fillings in place. The whole process was virtually pain-free as I had enough anesthetic to stun an elephant! The initial injections were softened with the use of an anesthetic gel which meant I didn't even feel the actual injections taking place. There was a very slight discomfort when he anaesthetised my lower teeth, but this was only slight and only for a few seconds. The only thing that I found to be a bit 'interesting' was the smell of burning teeth as they were being ground down during preparation. Nowhere within my research had this been mentioned. Had I have known, I would probably dab a bit of Vicks under my nose so I didn't smell it. Day 1 - Was the initial preparation of the teeth and prior to starting, molds were taken of my existing teeth so that temporary acrylic teeth could be made. Day 1 was a long day and I think I was I the chair for about 3-4hrs in total, but I wasn't in any pain. Day 2 - It was considerably shorter and molds were taken of my gums and what was left of my teeth. Again - no pain except a little discomfort. Day 3 - The frame that the teeth would be built upon was test fitted. A small amount of discomfort was felt as my gums were a bit painful and teeth stumps were a bit sensitive - but again, it was incredibly short (under a minute in reality). Day 4 - The actual teeth were fitted - they looked fantastic and I was incredibly overwhelmed with happiness. Day 5 - Final check and the bite was adjusted / gum shield provided for sleeping. I then had 12hrs and an overnight to kill before my return back to the UK. I simply could not stop smiling, anyone who made eye contact got a smile in return, and I'm still smiling now. I'm smiling at the cost, I'm smiling at the quality, I'm smiling at the great experience I had and most of all - I'm smiling because I now finally have a great smile that I'm proud to show off to the world. I had been planning to get my smile sorted and had contacted several dentists within the UK who were recommended for this type of work. I've always been embarrassed about my smile but the cost of repairing it was always astronomical at home. I thought I needed at least 2 implants as well as 18 crowns, as that's what the UK dentists told me I needed. I had prices ranging from the "Oh my god - how much!" to "Really? - What planet are you from!". I'd heard from a few friends at work about the treatment they had received overseas for a fraction of the cost so started doing my research. I came across Activ Dental and Dr. Peter Haidekker as part of that research. I contacted the clinic and then entered into correspondence with Sylvia who I have to say was absolutely fantastic throughout the whole process. Dr. Peter Haidekker was the only guy who told me I didn't need implants as the crowns could be bridged so I didn't need the extra costs. That spoke volumes to me about the guy and his integrity. The next step was to research him personally and the quality of his work. All I could find were positive reviews, plus the information and before and after photos sent by the clinic to me. I'm naturally skeptical so rather than just believe what was sent to me, I decided to have a short break in Budapest, and call in to meet with Sylvia (Patient co-ordinator) and Dr. Peter. I was immediately taken for a panoramic x-ray and then had a discussion with Peter as to what he thought was the best way to restore my smile. I felt immediately confident in the guy and his abilities, his ability to explain and talk to me in English allayed any concerns I had about translation being an issue. He also gives me a quick teeth polish whilst I was there and the inspirational part - this was all free! My decision was made there and then to use Peter especially as the cost was quoted €5800 - a considerable saving against the price back home. The quote also covered the cost of a hotel and transfers, so the only addition to this was the cost of the flights. I gave her dates of when I'd like the treatment, and she confirmed an apartment for me (the normal hotel they use was full. In fairness, I only gave her a weeks notice!) and then kept me up to date via either email or text/WhatsApp. I was met at the airport and transferred to my apartment and Sylvia was there when my transport to return me to the airport arrived. She was there with me every time I went to the surgery and if her role was to put me at ease, she did that exceptionally well but that's no surprise given that she is a lovely woman and incredibly interesting to talk to. She also has a bit of a sweet tooth, so ice cream at Gustos over the road directly opposite is a treat for her! The actual clinic itself is housed in the 4th floor of a building that looks fairly communistic so don't expect anything flash and modern, but once you get in the actual room, it's clean and hygienic and modern equipment is used. Add to this that Dr. Peter is extremely skilled and you're at ease almost as soon as you sit in the chair. Budapest is a fantastic city to explore. It's clean, friendly, safe, has lots of street art and fantastic architecture and the prices are cheaper than the UK for a beer/meal etc. The clinic is in the middle of the city and virtually next door to the basilica. You can explore most of the city attractions on foot. I never needed to use public transport and saw everything I wanted to see. I'm genuinely struggling to find anything negative to say about the whole experience and the only improvement suggestion I could make is to have something on the ceiling above the chair to keep you interested - boring ceiling tiles could easily be swapped for a flat-screen TV with subtitles, or an interesting photograph/poster at least. I'd very happily recommend the services of both Sylvia and Dr. Peter.

The staff at the clinic are very nice, polite and you are not waiting aroundRussell, UK, 08 11 18

I went to SODC in May 2018 to see what options I had with my teeth as one by one they were crumbling and dropping out. Dr Szofia was my dentist and she was straight to the point but very nice with it! They all had to come out and I had choices after that implants with snap-on dentures seemed the best option with 3 visits needed over 11 months. The next day I had my extractions and was given temporary false teeth until my implant treatment was complete. I have just got back home after my second visit to Budapest (Nov 2018) for 3 days. I had 8 implants placed (4 lower and 4 upper jaw) a small bone graft and a troublesome wisdom tooth surgically extracted all in one visit to the chair (2 hours). While I wouldn't say it was painless, what I would say is it is not as bad as I thought it would be. My face is a little swollen but that is all really, apart from a little tenderness around the stitches in my gums. As regards to the value, I was quoted £20,000 in the UK for this treatment. The price I will pay after factoring in travel and accommodation is less than half that. On top of that, you can stay in Budapest, which is beautiful and very warm too. Can't wait to go to finish my treatment in May 2019. The reason I chose this clinic is I had read the reviews and they all seemed positive and I'm glad I did. The drivers who pick you up and drive you around are a great bunch of guys, always polite and friendly, the patient reps very helpful. The staff at the clinic are very nice, polite and you are not waiting around, no sooner have you sat down they are calling you in to see your dentist. It's state of the art with everything there, the scanning equipment etc and the premises are lovely, clean, the staff so nice and friendly. Glad I went there and once my treatment is complete I will visit the clinic once a year for a check-up with a nice 3-day mini break thrown in lovely Budapest.

carried out with first class careRonald, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, 25 02 16

I had 4 extractions, 6 implants fitted with a 12 piece crown bridge fixed to my top jaw; I also had a 12 piece crown bridge fitted to my bottom jaw over my existing teeth. All carried out with first class care. My ‘Implant journey’ began in November 2013 where I had an appointment/assessment with a U.K. dentist & the cost of having the work done at home just wasn’t an option. I then started to look elsewhere & stumbled across the ‘whatclinic’ website. After having carried out a fair amount of research on various clinics in Hungary I decided that I felt most comfortable with the ‘Hodent’ clinic in Heviz & as it turns out, it was the best decision I could have made. I had had an initial appointment with another Hungarian dental practice that had a clinic in London used for initial assessment prior to travelling to Hungary, where a panoramic x-ray of my teeth/jaws was taken. I also contacted 'Hodent' via the ‘whatclinic’ website & received an email from an English introducer to the Hodent practice within a very short time & from then on, any questions I had were answered promptly & without trying to blind me with science. The English contact proved invaluable in helping advise on flights, arrange accommodation, airport transfers & dental appointments (accommodation & transfers were included in the cost plan where the cost of the treatment was over a certain amount at that time) & to dispel any fears I may have had at any time throughout the whole process. I emailed the panoramic x-ray I'd had taken in London to the introducer who forwarded it on to Hodent, where I received a cost plan based on the x-ray the following afternoon & at around a third of the cost it would be in the U.K. My first appointment to the Hodent practice was in March 2014 where I was greeted by a smiling receptionist & in fact, all the staff were very welcoming. The doctors spoke perfect English & just as important, actually listened to my concerns & explained clearly the best option for treatment. I was quite nervous at first but was quite quickly put at ease. I had the initial preparation work done, the necessary extractions, Implants fitted & temporary bridges fixed over a period of around 4 or 5 days (can’t remember exactly). I then returned to the U.K for around 6 months to allow everything to heal. I returned to Hodent in October 2014 for the final treatment & was there for 7 days in total. My temporary bridges were removed, an impression was taken of the top jaw with implants & the bottom teeth were prepared ready for crowns also. My final crown /bridges were made in the onsite laboratory so no delay in making them. Bridges were fitted & I was able to ‘try them out’ for a day or so before going back for my final appointment & having any fine adjustments made until I was completely happy with the finished result. I have lived with my implants for around 18 months now & I’m just so pleased with them still. I think it’s safe to say, my teeth have ‘never’ looked so good & I will be eternally grateful to all the Doctors, Nurses, technicians & everyone involved with the Hodent Dental Practice in Heviz, Hungary. I’m not pretending it was a pleasant experience & after the anaesthetic wore off I did experience some pain & discomfort for a couple of hours on the first visit which is to be expected I suppose as after all, it is quite an invasive procedure, but it was to prove all worth it in the end. The doctors are clearly very skilled in their field & are very sympathetic during the treatment & I don’t hesitate to recommend the practice to anyone that asks me when they see my amazing new teeth. The total cost of the treatment was approx. £7,000 which was around a third of the cost in the U.K. at that time. A big THANKYOU! To you all.
