My experience with Dr Urzola was very good. I have reflux and when I was younger I would get these areas along the gum line where the enamel would turn a milky white and then just disappear when I brushed my teeth. My dentist kept putting composite fillings in and telling me I was drinking too many sodas which I hardly ever drink. This went on for a couple years before he said hey, you might need to be on reflux medicine. Well, that slowed the damage down but fast forward a couple decades and I could tell my teeth were still eroding because I could feel a ridge where the composite fillings were located. I figured if I didn’t do something soon I would end up with implants so I started researching. Turkey is cheaper but way too far away. Costa Rica had some good reviews and prices were still good. Contacted a few dentists in CR but others were not as responsive and had more of a hard sale approach. Then I happened upon Dr Urzola, or more to the point, Cristina! Such a pleasure emailing and talking with her. I sent my panoramics in and asked if they could provide a treatment plan and estimated cost. Cristina actually set up a call with Dr Urzola for me. He had to cancel on the first try, I had to cancel on the second try but Cristina did get us on the phone together on the third try. Dr Urzola said my X-rays didn’t look too bad and wanted some history. I told him the same story as above and he recommended 20 crowns which was kinda where I was also leaning. To tell you the truth, it was kinda a leap of faith but one that I did feel good about because of my interactions with Cristina and Dr Urzola. I am very happy with the results! And Cristina made everything so easy with airport pick up, hotel reservations and the ride back to the airport. I am now trying to talk my son into going down to fix his teeth. Much worse than mine and we think it may be related to conditions he was exposed to in the military but the VA will not help him. From start to finish my experience with Costa Rica Dental Clinic Lab was wonderful! I was in need of a root canal and crown and the cost where I reside in the US was very high. My wife and I did some research and discovered CRDCL. I spoke with Geovanna about my situation and she was able to set appointments with the doctors despite my somewhat constrictive time constraints. I am very happy with all the work done. The root canal was successful and the crown fits perfectly with my other teeth. In addition, I was able to fill another cavity and get a deep cleaning with the hygienist. I love the flexibility and professionalism of all the staff. Everyone was super nice. Including all travel, accomodations and food the total cost came to a third of the price here in the US.

Their daughter, Dr. Nadine Cordero contributes unstoppable energy to the team. They are supported by other dedicated members, including Dr. Coraline Nunes, Dr. Roberto Hernandes and Dr. Alejandro Montero. What truly sets this team apart is their passion for their work, which goes beyond financial motivation. In our opinion, this is one of the best dental family businesses in the world. With modern equipment and dental lab inside what can be done in U.S. for years, in Dr. Cordero's office can be done in days with better quality and around a half of the U.S. crazy prices. My wife and I highly recommend them. Our review is based not only on our own opinion, but also on the options of other patients who we interacted with while getting treatment there for one week in April 2025.

Accompanied by my wife I first attended the Dr. Marco Muñoz Cavallini International Dental Clinic in January 2013. Because my teeth were in terrible shape I wanted to have a full restoration that would provide me with two arches of new implant-supported teeth. It was agreed before I arrived that I should allow for one week per arch so I made arrangements to stay for two weeks. A treatment plan was agreed on day one but when I was being prepared for my first surgery session Dr. Marco became concerned that my heart was beating irregularly. He was so concerned that he sent for para-medics and I ended up being taken to the hospital emergency room where I was seen by a cardiologist. Although I was discharged later the same day Dr. Marco explained to me that it would not be possible for me to undergo any oral surgery until my heart condition had been treated. During this whole episode, I was accompanied by Anna, a bilingual member of the dental clinic’s staff, who took care of all of the arrangements. She did a wonderful job. We (my wife and I) returned to the USA the next day. My heart condition was subsequently diagnosed and I was required to have a heart pacemaker which was fitted in July 2013. In September my doctor cleared me for oral surgery and we returned to the dental clinic at the end of November. We stayed for two weeks and I received complete new upper and lower teeth consisting of 27 crowns supported by 10 implants. Some of my natural teeth were extracted and others ground down. My permanent new teeth were fitted on the last Friday of my stay and we returned to the USA the next day. All the surgery was performed under local anaesthetic and was virtually pain-free. The most uncomfortable part of the treatment was the taking of the impressions for the temporary dentures and the permanent teeth and the pressing into a place of the new teeth this being due to the pressure that had to be exerted to ensure a good fit and a strong bonding of the cement. My new teeth felt quite comfortable straight away and have been completely problem-free for the 7 years since I received them. The only money that I have spent at the dentist has been for routine check-ups. I cannot be categorical but it is my belief that I would have spent more money repairing and maintaining my “old” teeth than I spent on acquiring my new teeth. With regard to the way the clinic operates, as other patients have noted, appointment times are virtually meaningless but nevertheless in my case whatever was scheduled to take place on any given day always did indeed take place on that day but much time was inevitably spent waiting. We stayed in the “on-site’ accommodation which is relatively austere but totally adequate and of course very convenient. The clinic is located within walking distance of the centre of San Jose. Although it is impossible to project the future, based on my experience to date, I count my decision to become a patient of the Dr. Marco Clinic one of the best I have made and I recommend this clinic without reservation.
