From the moment I arrived in Costa Rica, the Urzola team cared for me very well. A driver greeted me at the airport and took me to the hotel the team recommended. It was near their clinic, very clean with an excellent restaurant. The Urzola clinic itself had all the latest dentistry equipment and an on-site lab where crowns were rapidly made. Dr. Urzola gave excellent care to my need for implants, even finding a way to insert an implant that other dentists told me lacked adequate bone. Urzola’s bone-grafting technique solved that problem. Post operative meds were sent to the clinic. A thorough explanation of post-op procedures and care were given. English was spoken by the attendants at the clinic which made my limited Spanish unnecessary. I highly recommend this implant clinic, especially for those wanting to save thousands of dollars on the implanting procedure.
World-class. My experience with Star Dental is the entire staff is extraordinarily sensitive, smart /professional and even fun. It's as if they read my mind and anticipated my fears from beginning to end. Basically, they get it: You are going to another country to spend a lot of money and put yourself at the mercy of people you haven't met. All I can say is I got 3 implants, 4 crowns, 4 root canals, 2 BONE graft surgeries, and 3 cavities when I arrived. After 3 visits I left with a new smile and teeth I could rely on. Even after the hotel, flight, food-, etc. I still saved thousands compared to USA dental quotes. I did this without sacrificing an ounce of expertise. I fact I believe Star Dental is better than average high-end dental offices in USA. I wouldn't hesitate to come back to Costa Rica to see them even for a check-up instead of a USA dentist. . I have been recommending them to anyone who asks, and a bunch of people have asked how I did it! There were no unpleasant or significant surprises from my perspective. This is key because a decision this big is all about trust right? It is for me. Their process starts addressing this long before you get there. In my view, they get full credit for having created an affordable and effective solution to my complicated dental mess that I was too scared to deal with for years.
The clinic and staff were wonderful. The staff took the time to explain everything before working on me. They were so thorough and kind. They made me feel very comfortable. they were very helpful helping me make all the arrangements to get there. I will come back to do my dental work.
If you're ever in need of a fantastic dentist, I highly recommend coming to San Jose, Costa Rica! After losing my front teeth and neighboring tooth in an accident at age 11, I've undergone numerous operations and tried almost every possible dental treatment by age 37. I've had to replace my front teeth every 10 years or so, especially during my younger years when I was still growing. I've been with Dr. Jehoavas Rafa for a couple of years now, and he's the first dentist who not only does a technically great job but also considers aesthetics - which is super rare, believe me! Highly recommend Dr. Jehoavas Rafa for professional and cosmetic treatment - he's one of the best dentists I've ever experienced!!
I had extensive implant work done, and started with another dentist. Dr. Vargas REPAIRED the poor work I had done before and spent an HOUR perfecting the look of a front tooth. He also caught periodontal work that was needed. I had forgotten to mention it in the stress of dealing with the bad work from the other dentist office. Patient and kind. Their work is first class.
