The hospital itself is very modern and immaculately cleanKatarzyna, Thatcham, 27 08 17

I had a consultation last week with Dr. Laskowski (Orthopaedic) for my hips as I'm not happy with my current treatment in the UK and wanted a second opinion. Dr. Laskowski was very thorough and he was also able to fast-track me for blood tests, X-Rays and MRI as I had travelled specially and was only in Warsaw for a couple of days. The hospital itself is very modern and immaculately clean. I chose the hospital as it is Orthopaedic and aimed at those who are sporty/active. The prices are so much better than those in the UK. I was able to get an appointment very quickly and my visit was organized through Danuta M, (who deals with patients coming from abroad and also speaks excellent English!) Danuta has been brilliant and even came to meet me just before my appointment!

Hip Resurfacing $9352 - $10616

At this point, I feel extremely satisfiedJohn, UK, 18 08 20

I first received a very comforting letter from Mr Lewis and then had a very reassuring telephone conversation with him as we could not meet face to face because of the virus. I had already been told by a friend that Mr Lewis was the best man to go to. I am at the end of my second-week post-op and am walking reasonably freely. At this point, I feel extremely satisfied. The first port of call was pre-op assessment and the nurses I saw reassured me and I can only say all the nurses and staff at Goring Hall were extremely friendly. On the day of the operation, I was reassured and all went well and I can only say that my experience was not as traumatic as I thought it was going to be. Mr Lewis was fantastic and I highly recommend him. Finally, I thank everybody, my only comment is that the food was not too good.

Knee Replacement
Knee replacement surgery, also known as arthroplasty, involves replacing the damaged or arthritic knee with an artificial prosthesis. Commonly the knee is damaged from arthritis, resulting in pain and restricted movement. Sufferers may also experience swelling or loosening of the knee joint. A knee replacement aims to treat these symptoms, restoring the knee to its original functionality and relieving any associated pain. The knee joint consists of three bones- the femur (thigh bone), tibia (shinbone) and patella (kneecap). The femur and tibia are connected by tendons and their movement cushioned by cartilage. The patella protects the joint and moves up and down as the leg bends and straightens. Depending on the area of damage patients may require a total knee replacement or a partial knee replacement. A total knee replacement involves replacing both the tibia and femur with an artificial joint and in some cases resurfacing the patella as well. There are two types of partial knee replacement- patellofemoral and medial compartment. A patellofemoral knee replacement involves replacing the damaged knee cap and its surrounding cartilage. More commonly a medial compartment knee replacement is required, replacing only the inside part of the knee. One important benefit of a partial replacement is that it leaves the healthy bone and tissues intact, resulting in a faster recovery time and fewer complications. The disadvantages include a higher risk of revision surgery and sometimes the functionality is not as good as with a total knee replacement. Sometimes where there is damage to only part of the knee an alternative treatment is partial knee resurfacing. This involves resurfacing the damaged part of the joint with metal, leaving the healthy bone and surrounding soft tissues intact.

I am able to walk with a much better posture and no pain at allEge, Germany, 26 06 19

I was diagnosed with congenital hip dysplasia. About six months ago it started to get worse and I was in serious pain doing my daily activities. After researching Prof. Fahri Erdogan for a long time I finally decided to consult him with my reports and files. International patient coordinator Mr Ege replied to me in an hour and collected the information they need to consult Dr Fahri. The next day Mr Ege got back to me with detailed explanations of Dr Fahri’s opinion, the injury and possible treatment processes. He sent me x-rays and videos of previous patients who had surgery for hip dysplasia. I knew Dr Fahri is known to be very successful in knee and hip replacement surgeries, but after seeing before-after videos of his patients I decided to book the trip and get the surgery performed by him. Mr Ege who spoke perfect English met us at the airport and was with us all the time. After meeting Dr Fahri in person for the physical examination I felt I am in safe hands due to his knowledge and confidence. His team arranged the treatment process as we spoke, and on my 3rd day in Istanbul, the surgery was performed. Dr Fahri and his team regularly visited me in the hospital during my 5-day stay. They helped me walk short distances. Even 1 day after the operation I was able to walk with a much better posture. They thought my physical therapy exercises and explained to me the healing period briefly. After resting 3 more days at the hotel Mr Ege dropped us to the airport for our flight back. It has been 5 months since the surgery and I can’t tell you how happy I am. I am able to walk with a much better posture and no pain at all. I used to avoid events that require physical activity before the surgery. Now I am basically able to do anything without help. I can take care of my daily jobs, join social gatherings and enjoy my days again. My pain is completely healed and my posture is much better, all thanks to Dr Fahri and his team, I strongly recommend Dr Fahri to anyone who needs a hip replacement surgery. You don’t have to live with it. Let Dr Fahri help you and you’ll regain your life quality with your treated hips.
