I had my initial consult via WhatsApp, which was all very smooth, easy-going and informative. Everything, different options/packages etc was all very clear. Sheyma was my consultant, got back to me straight away on everything (before and after) and has a great sense of humour, which makes things a lot easier.
I booked and flew over last August (2020). Driver (Volcan) met me at the airport, a really nice drive across the city from the airport to the hotel. The hotel was lovely, with really nice food and a very comfortable bed. The staff were great too.
The next morning Volcan (also extremely easy-going, made me feel very relaxed as was a bit nervous) collected me and brought me to hospital. Was extremely impressed with their level of infection control, way ahead of us (Ireland!). After being tested for covid, I had my consult with the doctor (lasted about thirty mins), any questions I had were answered. I wanted them to focus mainly on my crown so made that clear and the doc said no probs!
Time for the op! Didn't find the injections too bad, uncomfortable rather than painful, after those, the head is numb, so you don't feel much. They will give you more injections throughout the day as needed, don't be afraid to ask.
They managed to get 5100 grafts, so had 4000 on the crown, top of the head and rest on the front.
It is a long day!!!!!
7plus hours being operated on, by the end I was wrecked. As I chose the oxy cure treatment, I had to go and do that, after the op! Got back to the hotel around 9 pm, food and bed. As I had a lot of work done on the crown, sleeping was tough, blood on pillow etc, for the next week or so, didn't sleep great at all, but all for the greater good.
The next day I went back to the hospital to have my hair washed which felt great. They show you how to do it for the next two weeks, and give you all the shampoos etc.
After that, I met a girl who is trying to sell you products. Be aware: she will make you feel like unless you buy the products (and they are expensive) that the operation won't be successful. Very very pushy. The only real downside of the whole experience, but maybe the products help, who knows!
After that back to the hotel and oxy therapy that evening! The next morning Volcan brought me to the airport and home, got some strange looks at the airport.
Aftercare: when I got home, Sheyma was excellent, she got back to me straight away on questions/worries I had, very good at her job. The recovery did last longer than expected, I had redness for longer than I thought, and my head was sore for the first month, not keeping me awake but sore.
But it's all worth it.
Result: I am six months in and more than happy with the results, I showed someone yesterday pics of before and after and they said it's like night and day, the difference. And probably only have 50% growth so far.
All in all, I would highly highly recommend vera. They might be a tiny bit more expensive than some other clinics but they nail it, every aspect of it. They make everything so easy, make you feel so relaxed and most importantly the results are great.
