As a therapist I am guided by the needs and requirements of the person seeking help. I believe that the strength of therapy lies not in technique alone, but in the connection made between the person seeking help and the therapist who is capable of offering it. My counselling background includes working with those who have experienced trauma, and those suffering from anxiety or feelings of low mood.  I have also worked with adolescents as a Schools Counsellor, and am currently working with Pieta House supporting people who are in suicidal distress or engaging in self harm. My approach to counselling and therapy is Person Centred, respecting and encouraging the clients’ autonomy within the therapeutic process at all times. I will provide a confidential one to one relationship in a safe setting to develop the client’s self-awareness, assisting them in finding their own way through their difficulties. I welcome those seeking help, working with teenagers, adults, couples and families. I have experience with a broad range of personal concerns including; depression, suicidal thoughts and self harm, anxiety and panic attacks, stress, relationship difficulties, sexual, physical and emotional abuse and personal development. My qualifications include: BA (Hons);  Dip Counselling/Psychotherapy;  Higher Dip in Conflict Resolution and Mediation;  Cert. Family Therapy, Cert CBT. I look forward to welcoming new clients to my established practice

The Therapy Centre - Store Street

About Michael Michael has received a bachelor's in Counselling and Psychotherapy Studies and is a member of APCP (Association of Psychotherapists and Counsellors in Ireland). Throughout his career, he has undergone numerous hours of personal therapy as part of the training to understand how it is to be a client and has extensive experience working with different individuals and issues. Outside of psychotherapy, Michael is an accomplished swimming teacher with 7 years of experience and has a real passion for helping those in need. Michaels Approach I base my work on creating a strong therapeutic relationship where the individual feels fully accepted and empathized with. Through applying certain skills we will begin to explore, process, and learn to manage the issues that brought you into therapy, whilst simultaneously developing a deeper relationship with yourself. Gaining a greater awareness and understanding of your thoughts, feelings, behaviors, desires, boundaries, and purposes is all part of the process. I work predominantly in a person-centered way but will integrate other theories into my practice if necessary such as CBT. Message to clients The challenges that bring us to therapy can sometimes overwhelm us, leading us to feel lost or as if we're fighting an uphill battle. Seeking therapy can be a positive step in learning to manage these issues, gaining a greater sense of control over one's self and life, experiencing more overall balance, and developing

My only regret is that I didn’t book her soonerKaren, Ireland, 08 03 24

The moment we stepped into the room, Caroline was calming and relaxed, which really helped my daughter. It was like having a chat with a friend. She is just amazing. My only regret is that I didn’t book her sooner. I now know we can help my girl going forward, so thank you Caroline, you're amazing.

Therapy Space - General Practice in Ireland

Therapy Space

Integrative Psychotherapy Practice, 143 Upper Rathmines Road, Rathmines, Dublin 6
Sometimes in life we can experience periods of inner conflict and confusion.  This may be due to traumatic past experiences or changes we may face in our lives presently. My practice offers a safe and confidential space in which to explore your issues with an experienced therapist. Counselling and Psychotherapy can help make sense of feelings, thoughts and behaviors which can cause inner conflict and confusion. This in turn can lead to a lesser quality of life. Making sense of these issue can help develop a greater sense of self awareness. I help bring about change by taking unconscious drives into a conscious space in which we can work together to implement meaningful change in your life. I am an Integrative Psychotherapist working from a Psychodynamic and Psychoanalytical framework. I also incorporate elements of Gestalt and Existential Psychotherapy in my work with clients.  I am a Pre-Accredited Member of the IACP ( Irish Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy ) and I am an Associate Member of the IPAA ( Irish Psycho-Analytical Association ). I am fully insured to work within the guidelines and best practice of my associations and current government legislation. I hold a Certificate in Counselling Skills from NUI Maynooth and a B.Sc. (Hons) in Counselling & Psychotherapy from Middlesex University.  I have several years of experience working with an array of clients. My background is in Nursing and Healthcare.
