Dublin Psychotherapy - Psychology Clinic in Ireland

Dublin Psychotherapy

62 Lower Baggot Street, Dublin 2, D2
Rating from 15 Reviews I found his approach very respectful and full of insight at the same timeDomenico, Dublin, 20 Sep 18

I've contacted Marcello after having closed a treatment with another psychotherapist during 2017. I found here a non-judgemental place where step by step I could open myself and explain the reason/s that brought me to ask his help. I found his approach very respectful and full of insight at the same time. This gave me the opportunity to understand better my behaviour, what beliefs were limiting my social and private life. Now after almost 8 months I feel more confident in taking actions, less strict with myself and more open to experimenting my personal way to achieve my potential. With the conviction that getting better is mainly a process than a result and even sometimes I don't get what I want. I may always enjoy my path towards this progress, being less self-critical than I was before. I choose Dublin Psychotherapy mainly because as Italian I was looking for the same mother-tongue therapist.

Individual Psychotherapy €90 - €120
Personal therapy is a way in which an individual can address any issue in their lives that is causing them distress. Each person, in their own unique way, has the potential to overcome their present difficulties. Working regularly with a trained therapist in a safe and non judgmental environment can provide a setting in which someone  can engage constructively with their struggle and discover a more creative way of living with less emotional baggage to hold them back.
CBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy €70 - €90
What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy? Cognitive Behavioural Therapy has been the most widely researched therapy. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a type of therapy that involves addressing a person’s problematic thinking styles and behaviors. It is based on the idea that how we think (cognition), how we feel (emotion), and how we act (behaviour) all interact together. Specifically, our thoughts determine our feelings and our behavior. Therefore, negative thoughts can cause us distress and result in problems. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy helps people to develop alternative viewpoints in order to tackle their problems. Developing alternative viewpoints is the cornerstone of the CBT principle that there is always more than one way of seeing things and therefore a person chooses their own viewpoint. This type of therapy has been found to be helpful in: AnxietyPanic attackDepressionAcrophobia and other phobiasSocial phobiasBulimiaObsessive compulsive disorderPost traumatic stress disorderStressRelationship problems When we change the way we think for the better, this in turn, contributes to how we view and react to situations around us. It also helps to bring new clarity of thought to help make better decisions for ourselves and others.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Treatment €10 - €50
Sometimes the effects of trauma remain with us is because the trauma has triggered off other painful memories which remain in the unconscious part of the mind. Psychoanalytic psychotherapy focuses on the unconscious processes of the mind which influence all that we do. Each one of us has repressed into our unconscious, memories and feelings that were too painful to bear. These repressed experiences continue to exert a powerful but hidden influence on our lives. The power of the unconscious mind can be seen when we wish to change some aspect of our life but find we cannot, when we find ourselves repeating patterns of behaviour which ultimately lead to pain, or even when there seems to be a dull but constant ache in our heart from which we cannot escape.   In the practice of psychoanalytic psychotherapy, access to the unconscious is based on ‘free association’ which is defined as the process of speaking about the thoughts that chance across your mind during a session. As this happens, the client becomes more able to acknowledge and express feelings and ideas that have been deeply buried. By remembering and working through these buried experiences, the client can give new meaning to the pain and suffering of their lives thus moving to mental well-being.
