Would receommend without hesitation!Clare, UK, 14 05 16

This was the best massage I have ever had. Masseuse was professional and incredibly knowledgable about the causes of the back pain I was experiencing due to his vast experience. Felt like I had a back transplant after the treatment. He gave me great advice also on how to eliminate future pain episodes. Would receommend without hesitation! Amazing

Osteopathy is a form of manual medicine which focuses on total body health by releasing tissue tension, thus restoring balance to the musculoskeletal framework. The Osteopath uses a combination of massage, stretching and joint manipulation techniques to relieve pain by relaxing muscles, improving circulation and calming nervous system function. Cranial Osteopathy is a refined and subtle type of osteopathic treatment that uses very gentle manipulative pressure to encourage the release of stresses throughout the body, including the head. It is can be helpful in treating a wide range of conditions in people of all ages, from birth to old age. What do Osteopaths Treat? Osteopaths treat the whole person, not just the condition. Common conditions that may be helped include:Back and Neck PainMuscle strains & Joint StiffnessDisc & Sciatica ProblemsPostural ProblemsRepetitive StrainHeadaches and MigrainesJaw Pain & Teeth GrindingMusculoskeletal Pain during and after pregnancyTreatments for Children and babiesSports InjuriesWhat happens on my first consultation? The 1st session will involve a detailed case history, both of the main problem, previous injuries and general health history, followed by a careful physical examination before arriving at a treatment plan. In more complex situations, further tests may be required to gain full understanding of the problem. How long does a treatment course last? This depends on the nature and complexity of the problem. Recent issues tend to resolve fairly quickly: 1 to 3 treatments. Longer term more chronic conditions will take longer.

I would not hesitate to recommendClaire, London, 12 07 16

I have suffered from serious back problems since 2011, resulting in extensive periods of working from home, ever stronger painkillers and a spinal fusion in 2013. Sadly, none of these have made a long term difference and I am still on strong painkillers as before. A helpful doctor at the hospital told me that there wasn't any more they could do and to go away and live with it! Fortunately I have an excellent GP who referred me to the Pain Clinic and I was fortunate enough to see Dr Wisam Ali at the Holly Private Hospital in Buckhurst Hill, under the NHS. From the outset Dr Ali has been committed to trying to defeat the pain for me, and other patients I have seen there! We have spoken at my appointments and I have thanked him for his ongoing support, his response is that he will always keep trying whilst the patient wants to and can bear it. He also explains exactly what he is intending to do on each occasion and what the effect should be, and what will be next if this is not successful. On a recent treatment for me he was concerned that I was showing signs of osteoporosis and arranged for me to have a full body scan, also at the Holly. Apart from general appointments I have also had five outpatient appointments with Dr Ali where he has carried out facet joint and radio frequency injections in various parts of my lower spine seeking to find the cure. I can't thank him enough for his constant determination and commitment to me, and to all his patients. I hear nothing but praise for him from his other patients, and the nursing staff who work with him, and I am grateful for the fact that I was referred to him. My consultant now thinks that the lumbar fusion may not have fused, but Dr Ali has been an amazing support to me since 2015, and I have further appointments with him this week. I would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone looking for a pain therapist/consultant anaesthetist.

Professional but friendly approachStuart, UK, 20 11 16

Early days, but impressive so far. Professional but friendly approach. Inspires confidence. No dramatic improvement yet, but miracles not to be expected. I have already recommended to a friend. I thought it was the Blackheath Rugby Club osteopath, which my GP had suggested for an earlier back problem, but which I had not followed up at the time. When I found the error I decided to go along with it anyway. First impressions favourable (see above), despite off-putting alternative therapy type background music. It was only when he gave me his card at the end of the session that I discovered he also offered 'mindfulness', which would certainly have driven me away had I known earlier.
