Quote "WhatClinic" for 20% Off Your 1st Session At The Fairlee Wellbeing Centre What is Osteopathy and Cranial Osteopathy? Osteopathy is a form of manual medicine which focuses on total body health by releasing tissue tension, thus restoring balance to the musculoskeletal framework. The Osteopath uses a combination of massage, stretching and joint manipulation techniques to relieve pain by relaxing muscles, improving circulation and calming nervous system function. Cranial Osteopathy is a refined and subtle type of osteopathic treatment that uses very gentle manipulative pressure to encourage the release of stresses throughout the body, including the head. It is can be helpful in treating a wide range of conditions in people of all ages, from birth to old age. What do Osteopaths Treat? Osteopaths treat the whole person, not just the condition. Common conditions that may be helped include:Back and Neck PainMuscle strains & Joint StiffnessDisc & Sciatica ProblemsPostural ProblemsRepetitive StrainHeadaches and MigrainesJaw Pain & Teeth GrindingMusculoskeletal Pain during and after pregnancyTreatments for Children and babiesSports InjuriesWhat happens on my first consultation? The 1st session will involve a detailed case history, both of the main problem, previous injuries and general health history, followed by a careful physical examination before arriving at a treatment plan. In more complex situations, further tests may be required to gain full understanding of the problem. How long does a treatment course last? This depends on the nature and complexity of the problem. Recent issues tend to resolve fairly quickly: 1 to 3 treatments. Longer term more chronic conditions will take longer.
