Born in Erzurum, Turkey, in 1973, Prof. Dr. Taşkın Gürbüz embarked on a remarkable journey in the realm of pediatric dentistry. After completing his primary, secondary, and high school education in Erzurum, he nurtured his passion for dentistry by pursuing a degree at the prestigious Faculty of Dentistry at Atatürk University in 1992. His academic excellence was evident from the very beginning, as he graduated with honors in 1997, setting the stage for a distinguished career.

Prof. Dr. Gürbüz's intellectual curiosity led him to pursue further academic endeavors. In 2003, he earned his Ph.D. in Pediatric Dentistry, solidifying his expertise in this specialized field. His dedication to his craft was further demonstrated through his appointment as an Assistant Professor in the same department.

In 2005-2006, Prof. Dr. Gürbüz proudly served as a reserve officer in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at the Gülhane Military Medical Academy, fulfilling his civic duty while continuing to advance his knowledge and skills. His commitment to excellence was recognized in 2008 when he was promoted to Associate Professor, and again in 2014 when he attained the esteemed rank of Professor.

Prof. Dr. Gürbüz's contributions to the field of dentistry extend far beyond the academic realm. He has held esteemed positions as the department chair, dean's assistant, and dean at the Faculty of Dentistry at Atatürk University, demonstrating his exceptional leadership and administrative abilities. His vision and expertise were instrumental in establishing the Faculty of Dentistry at Istanbul Medeniyet University, where he served as the founding dean and chief physician. Currently, he holds the position of vice rector and founding dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at Istanbul Health and Technology University, where he continues to shape the future of dental education and research.

A prolific researcher, Prof. Dr. Gürbüz has made significant contributions to the field of pediatric dentistry through his numerous international and national academic articles. His work has been recognized by the Turkish Dental Association, which has bestowed upon him the Academic Achievement Award in 2006, the Young Researcher Award in 2011, and the Scientific Publication Award in 2013. These accolades are a testament to his unwavering commitment to advancing knowledge and improving the oral health of children worldwide.

Tansu Sendurur, who was born in Edirne, completed her high school education in Edirne Süleyman Demirel Science High School in 2010. After the high school education, she got her university education in Yeditepe University Dentistry Faculty and graduated in 2017 with high honors.

She was accepted to Marmara University Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Prosthodontics for the post-graduate Doctorate education, immediately after she graduated from Yeditepe University Dentistry School. In 2024, she completed her “Doctorate thesis” entitled "In Vitro Investigation of Removal Times of Lithium Disilicate Crowns in Different Thicknesses and Pulp Temperature Changes During Removal with an Er:YAG Laser" successfully and received the PhD degree.

She has participated in various certificate programs in the field of Prosthodontics. She is a member of the Turkish Prosthodontics and Implantology Association (TPID) and continues her academic studies today, closely following the scientific developments and congresses in this field. Some of her interests in her proficiency are; Zirconia all-ceramic crowns, laminate veneers, implant supported FPDs commonly, and Removable dentures either tooth or implant supported, Maxillofacial prostheses, Temporomandibular joint disorders and bruxism.

She has 2 articles entitled ‘‘A Preliminary Study in Er:YAG Laser Debonding of Lithium Disilicate Crowns: Laser Power Setting vs Crown Thickness’’ and ‘‘Er:YAG laser lithium disilicate crown removal: removal time and pulpal temperature change’’, which were published in SCI-E indexed valuable journals and there are many oral and poster presentations presented at various congresses.

Dr. Hakan Ocak graduated from Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs University Faculty of Dentistry in 2006. In the same year, he commenced his doctoral studies in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Erciyes University Faculty of Dentistry. In 2009, Dr. Ocak furthered his education as an observer researcher at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in the United States, specializing in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for a duration of six months. In 2012, he successfully completed his doctoral training with a thesis titled "Shortening Jaws with Contraction Osteogenesis," supported by Tübitak Institution, earning him a specialization certificate.

In 2013, Dr. Ocak was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Erciyes University, where he served for three years. Resigning from his state service duties in 2015, he established his own practice and currently working at Bestdent Oral Health Clinic where he continues his professional journey. Since 2013, Dr. Ocak has published numerous research articles in both international and national peer-reviewed journals and has received recognition with various awards both nationally and internationally. Specializing in oral and maxillofacial surgery, advanced implant surgery, and treatments, he conducts courses, acts as a consultant physician, and remains an active member of AÇBİD, TAOMS, and ITI since 2007.

Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Dr. Baha Bagdadi

Dr. Baha Bagdadi, a highly skilled and experienced oral and maxillofacial surgeon, embarked on his medical journey in Turkey, where he earned his qualification in 2001. His passion for oral surgery led him to serve as a Lieutenant Dental Officer in the Turkish Air Force, where he honed his expertise and gained invaluable experience. Seeking to expand his horizons and contribute to the global healthcare landscape, Dr. Bagdadi ventured to the United Kingdom, bringing his skills and dedication to the esteemed London Units and Oxford University Hospitals.

For over a decade, Dr. Bagdadi has been an integral part of the oral and maxillofacial surgery team at these renowned institutions, consistently demonstrating his exceptional surgical prowess and unwavering commitment to patient care. His expertise extends to a wide range of oral and maxillofacial procedures, including complex oral surgeries and implant placements.

Currently, Dr. Bagdadi proudly serves as a Specialty Doctor at Buckinghamshire Hospitals, where he continues to provide exceptional care to patients while also fulfilling the role of Educational Supervisor, guiding and nurturing the next generation of oral and maxillofacial surgeons.
