Full Mouth Rehabilitation (FMR) is a comprehensive dental treatment in which the clinic restores or replaces all teeth, rather than performing singular fillings. Bonding fillings are not performed. The treatment aims to improve chewing, speaking, oral health, and appearance. It includes detailed diagnosis and planning—often using digital smile design—followed by procedures such as implants, crowns, bridges, or orthodontics, along with regular follow-up visits. FMR typically takes several months and may involve multiple specialists, resulting in a fully functional and aesthetic smile.

There are a number of people who have dental problems throughout their mouths that must be treated comprehensively with a vision of a final result that improves both function and esthetics. These patients may exhibit multiple missing teeth, numerous teeth with large fillings that are failing or exhibiting decay, cracked or broken teeth, or badly worn teeth due to bruxism (teeth grinding) or other habits. There is also a group of patients who were born with conditions such as Ectodermal Dysplasia, Ameliogenesis, or Dentinogenisis Imperfecta that will need extensive restoration of their teeth. These patients may be candidates for a full mouth reconstruction. As the name implies, full mouth reconstruction refers to rebuilding and/or replacing all of the teeth in a patient’s mouth. Full mouth reconstructions combine esthetics with the science of restorative dentistry to improve the health, function, and beauty of the mouth.

At best, a single dentist would provide you with a guestimate of the treatment you might need. To provide worthwhile local consultations we would need to send a team of specialists and a considerable amount of expensive equipment, unfortunately that is not possible. Patient consultations should be structured as deliberate conversations between the dental professional(s) and patient, which addresses the patient’s dental condition, relevant medical condition(s), obstacles to treatment, treatment options, risks, and relevant details including time and cost. It should be recognized that it is almost impossible to provide the patient with an exhaustive understanding of all treatment options and details.
