What is a Dental Check-up?

A dental check-up, or dental examination, is performed by a hygienist or dentist to check the teeth, gums and mouth of patients. They will check if the patient has cavities or oral cancer and also if they have any other oral disease during the check-up. An extensive examination consisting of fifteen points is performed on the patient’s first visit. Routine examinations are performed after the patient attends the clinic several times.   

Is a Dental Check-up painful?

A dental check-up is not painful. The dentist or hygienist detects dental and oral problems during the check-up. The patient who comes for the check-up could be experiencing pain before the check-up.   

How long does recovery after a Dental Check-up take?

A dental check-up does not involve any intervention. The dentist or hygienist will only detect the problem and arrange for further treatment to be performed, if necessary.  The need for recovery will arise only after the problem is treated.

How do I care for my teeth after a Dental Check-up?

Patients should follow all the oral hygiene instructions given to them by the hygienist or dentist after the dental check-up. If a dental or oral problem is detected they should attend the clinic for the treatment appointment correctly to prevent the problem from getting worse. They should get a dental check-up done twice a year for long term dental and oral health.

I visited the clinic in the spring for a whitening and bonding treatment. I couldn’t be happier with the results. Although they wanted to tamper with my expectations, the end results were perfect. I plan on using their clinic for veneers in the near future. My doctor was Irene Franco, and her assistant was Claudia Alejos. They both communicated extremely well during the procedure and work in tandem very well. The receptionist (Regina) was very accommodating and attentive. All in all, a great experience.

My husband and I had a lot of dental work done recently, and we are very pleased with the outcome. The dentists are very skilled, and up to date with all modern technology. They are ahead of a lot of clinics here in the US. Dr Kevin and Dr Daniela are excellent. Had very little discomfort with procedures done. Would highly recommend this clinic to anyone looking for dental care. Laura at reception is most helpful in making appointments and scheduling around travel. The whole team are so very friendly and caring.

Having dental work done at ProClinic in Guadalajara, Jalisco Mexico was amazing. I am from the U.S. and decided while visiting Guadalajara I would get my dental work done. I was amazed and pleased with the entire staff at Proclinic. All are very professional and outgoing. I had my initial consultation with Dr. Alfredo who informed me that I had a cavity, two cracked crowns and need to replace three fillings along with getting a night guard. These were the same findings by my Dentist here in the states but at more than half the price here in the U.S. The Dr. who performed the work on my teeth was the amazing Dr. Veronica Cabeza (hope I spelt that right) she is not only an amazing Doctor but an amazing person who made me fill comfortable throughout all the procedures and always made me laugh. If you are from the states and hesitant to have dental work done in Mexico, don't be. The Doctors, Staff and facility are very clean and professional. It was also recommended by Dr. Alfredo that I get a bone graft again, also recommended by my Dentist in the states. I forgot the Doctors name but he did an amazing procedure with no discomfort or pain. Again, thank you to all the Doctors and Staff at ProClinic Guadalajara. I am sure I will see you all again. Thank You!!
