Dr. Paton was awarded his MBBS from the University of Queensland Medical School in 1993. After serving for 5 years in the Royal Australian Navy as a medical officer he studied dentistry at the University of Adelaide. Dr. Paton was awarded a BDS in 2001 and received a Medal for academic excellence from the University.
