What is Liposuction?

Liposuction is a cosmetic surgical procedure where localized fat is broken up and sucked out of the body.  Liposuction is performed by making small incisions in the body in order to insert a thin tube, or cannula, through the incision into localized fat deposits between the skin and muscle of the patient. A suction pump or syringe is then used to suck out localized fat deposits.

Being a plastic surgeon (not a cosmetic surgeon) his skills are top-shelf. He's honest and approachable making otherwise uncomfortable conversations easy to have - which makes navigating the whole experience so much easier! Dr Quinn does not apply a 'one size or approach fits all' and really listens to what your individual goals are in relation to your surgery. Liposuction is an operation designed to remove excess fat from areas of the body that are not corrected by diet and exercise. Hollow narrow tubes, made from light metal, are used to remove excess fat cells. These are inserted through small incisions and into the fat areas whilst a vacuum is applied to remove the fat.  The areas created by the removed fat are then collapsed by the use of a compression garment.
