He originally trained in General and Cardiothoracic Surgery in Egypt, where he has held uninterrupted specialist registration in General Surgery since 2007. He holds an MBBCh (Hons.), a Master of Surgery (Egypt), and has completed Part I of the MRCS (UK). After relocating to Australia, he obtained the AMC Certificate and undertook further clinical training.
