I highly recommend this clinic to anyone who has concerns about ADHDHelena, Ireland, 12 10 23

This clinic is an efficient and thorough method of adult ADHD assessment, that uses a battery of recognised psychometric tests to assess symptoms of ADHD in both childhood and adulthood. They also use a range of tests that will rule out other disorders that can mimic the symptoms of ADHD, as well as look for other comorbid disorders that often co-occur with it. It works by having an initial in-depth screening in person after filling out a range of other tests at home, both by yourself and another person who knows you well. If it is decided that ADHD is suspected, you will be referred to a psychiatrist, who will confirm your diagnosis and initiate a treatment that is suitable for you. The psychiatrist will work with you throughout this process and Bergin will provide coaching on ways to improve symptoms as well as practical information on your diagnosis. It is an excellent alternative to the public route if you are in a position to do this as the process is very timely and personally within 3 weeks I had both a diagnosis and treatment initiated! Zac has in-depth knowledge of ADHD and had an excellent way of interpreting what I was saying even when I wasn't sure how to articulate it. He knows the kinds of questions to ask to find all the information he needs. I would recommend attending his clinic prior to engaging with online psychiatry consultants on their own because you will have more confidence in your diagnosis due to the extra time that is taken to look into your symptoms. I am both grateful and excited for the future having finally pinpointed an issue that has been with me all my life. I am confident that it is the right diagnosis and I have been given all the tools I need to make the best of my future. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone who has concerns about ADHD. Zac is very easy to talk to and will help you feel at ease throughout the whole process!

CBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Cognitive therapy seeks to help the client overcome difficulties by identifying and changing there thinking errors, behaviour, and emotions. This involves helping patients develop skills to change beliefs, identifying thinking errors and changing behaviours. Treatment is based the collaboration between the client and the therapist. Once those thoughts have been challenged, your feelings are easier to change. I believe that most people can overcome any emotional disability by ‘Working harder’. So be prepared for some homework, as C.B.T does require you the client to record your progress and challenge your behaviour in between sessions. But it’s not just about working harder; I will help you to ‘work clever’. The techniques of C.B.T will allow you to see your world from a new angle and this often brings relief and a new found ability to change behaviour that up until now, you may have felt would never change.

OCD - Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Treatment
Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is an illness that causes people to have unwanted thoughts (obsessions) and to repeat certain behaviours (compulsions) over and over again. We all have habits and routines in our daily lives, such as brushing our teeth before bed. However, for people with OCD, patterns of behaviour get in the way of their daily lives. Most people with OCD know that their obsessions and compulsions make no sense, but they cant ignore or stop them. What are obsessions? Obsessions are ideas, images and impulses that run through the persons mind over and over again. A person with OCD doesnt want to have these thoughts and finds them disturbing, but he or she cant control them. Sometimes these thoughts come just once in a while and are only mildly annoying, other times, a person who has OCD will have obsessive thoughts all the time .What are compulsions? Obsessive thoughts make people who have OCD feel nervous and afraid. They try to get rid of these feelings by performing certain behaviours according to "rules" that they make up for themselves. These behaviours are called compulsions. (Compulsive behaviours are sometimes also called rituals.)For example, a person who has OCD may have obsessive thoughts about germs. Because of these thoughts, the person may wash his or her hands repeatedly.Performing these behaviours usually only makes the nervous feelings go away for a short time. When the fear and nervousness return, the person who has OCD repeats the routine all over again Some people treat their OCD with just cognitive therapy. Others use only medication while others choose to combine both. The following medicines are also often used to treat depression and include: clomipramine. These drugs can cause side effects such as dry mouth, nausea and drowsiness. Sometimes they also have sexual side effects. It may be several weeks before you see an improvement in your behaviour. She let us make ourselves comfortable at our own paceKathryn, maynooth, 21 03 26

I attended The Resilience Clinic with my 11-year-old daughter on 20/03/2026. My daughter has had a long journey with professionals. The first thing I noticed as we walked through the door was Caroline and how she received us. She let us make ourselves comfortable at our own pace; there was no rushing my daughter. Michaela brought five different soft toys with her, and Caroline treated them the same as my daughter (with respect and as if they were friends). We went for an autism assessment with Caroline. My daughter paced the floor throughout and not once did Caroline ask her to sit, which was refreshing. She allowed my daughter be who she truly was and didn't argue with her. At the end of the session, I felt listened to and heard, which is quite unusual for a parent in Ireland. I actually thanked Caroline for being the first person ever to help me in this journey. What was crazy unusual was that at the end, my daughter started walking over to Caroline, hesitated and then went right up and gave her a hug. This NEVER happens. My daughter said on the walk back to the car that Caroline felt safe, so I gave her a hug. In that sentence, she summed up what Caroline is: she's friendly, unique, helpful, knowledgeable, but most importantly, safe for both parent and child.

Upon contracting her, she was extremely responsive and got back to me the same dayNichola, UK, 02 05 24

I was really grateful to receive a recommendation for Caroline, regarding a diagnosis of Autism and ADHD for myself. Upon contracting her, she was extremely responsive and got back to me the same day. During the assessment process I felt seen and understood and Caroline’s gentle, conversational approach didn’t feel like I was being assessed at all. Following on from receiving the diagnosis, Caroline was very positive and helped me to see all I have achieved and gotten through so far and to highlight the benefits of my neurotype. I was also pleased that she was charging a much more reasonable price for an assessment than many other places, and was able to see me sooner too.

CBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy €70 - €90
What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy? Cognitive Behavioural Therapy has been the most widely researched therapy. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a type of therapy that involves addressing a person’s problematic thinking styles and behaviors. It is based on the idea that how we think (cognition), how we feel (emotion), and how we act (behaviour) all interact together. Specifically, our thoughts determine our feelings and our behavior. Therefore, negative thoughts can cause us distress and result in problems. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy helps people to develop alternative viewpoints in order to tackle their problems. Developing alternative viewpoints is the cornerstone of the CBT principle that there is always more than one way of seeing things and therefore a person chooses their own viewpoint. This type of therapy has been found to be helpful in: AnxietyPanic attackDepressionAcrophobia and other phobiasSocial phobiasBulimiaObsessive compulsive disorderPost traumatic stress disorderStressRelationship problems When we change the way we think for the better, this in turn, contributes to how we view and react to situations around us. It also helps to bring new clarity of thought to help make better decisions for ourselves and others.
Couples Therapy €90 - €120
What is Marriage & Relationship Counselling?Relationships can run into difficulties from time to time resulting in conflict, lack of communication and disappointment. Normal life stage events such as the birth of a new baby, redundancy, retirement, a change in work/life balance or children leaving home can also present couples with the challenge of renegotiating their expectations of themselves and each other. Counselling can teach you some valuable ways to improve and enhance communication skills and to work through difficult emotions to achieve clarity, understanding and connection. Elmwood Centre offers relationship counselling in a safe and comfortable environment to co-habiting, married and same sex couples. We provide the space for couples to talk, listen and be heard. By working with a counsellor who possesses empathy and professional expertise, couples feel supported while working through the challenges in their intimate relationship. While being aware of the uniqueness of each individual, we also have the skills and experience to hear both sides of the story in complete confidence, without judgement and without taking sides. The relationship you wish to explore may be past, present or in the future, and we invite you, alone or with your partner, to avail of the opportunity to explore, understand and transform your relationships.
