Sayer Back & Neck Pain Clinic - London W1

11 Welbeck Street, London, W1G 9XZ
Rating from 2 Reviews I've gone from being bedridden to an active life exercising daily!Pernille, UK, 10 Sep 14

Having suffered from severe pain in my lower back and coccyx for a very long time, Michael Durtnall was able to determine the cause of my pain from the digital X-rays, something the doctors at the hospital were unable to. After starting treatment with Michael and his colleagues Marta Dias de Oliviera, Dr. Chris Berlingieri and Dr. Briony Geekie, I am much better and stronger. I've gone from being bedridden to an active life exercising daily! All treatments have been handled very professionally and with the help of Ines in charge of all bookings, I can always get an appointment when suits me. I can highly recommend the clinic, and can honestly say that Michael Durtnall has drastically changed my life for the better.

Deep tissue massage is helpful for releasing tense and contracted areas such as a stiff neck, lower back tightness, and sore shoulders, allowing the spine and limbs to move more freely, and drastically reducing pain. Deep tissue massage is similar to Swedish massage, but the pressure is generally more intense. Deep tissue massage can help the following conditions: •Chronic pain •Headaches •Limited mobility •Recovery from injuries (e.g. whiplash, falls, sports injury) •Repetitive strain injury, such as carpal tunnel syndrome •Postural problems •Osteoarthritis pain •Fibromyalgia •Muscle tension or spasm Deep tissue massage is highly beneficial in the treatment of trigger points, tender spots which trigger pain and discomfort. Trigger points usually develop due to a muscular overload and are actually the result of a local area of ischemia (a restriction in blood supply to the tissues). Deep tissue massage is highly beneficial in the treatment of trigger points and often releases the area of tension almost instantaneously.
