Malou Acupuncture Counselling is a friendly, welcoming acupuncture practice in Dublin providing treatments for a variety of health conditions and promoting patient's general wellbeing. It is run by Malou Wang, a practitioner with over 20 years experience in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in Dublin and Shanghai. Having worked and trained in Chinese and Irish hospitals, Malou ensures a balance between Eastern and Western medicine in her practice. Through almost 2 decades of acupuncture practice, I have always been curious about psyche (Mind) and somatic (Body) interconnection. After 4 years of studying at Dublin Business School, I have been awarded a bachelor degree BA in Counselling and Psychotherapy. These studies have enhanced my empathetic understanding of feelings of myself and others. When Western medicine and philosophy meets Eastern, it allows Mind, Body and Spirit to emerge into the ‘ONE’. Malou’s specialities are: Emotional conditions – Stress, Anxiety, Depression, Panic Attacks, InsomniaCancer careGynaecology  – Infertility, Pregnancy, Inducing Labour, Breech Babies, Menstrual and Menopausal ProblemsPain relief – Headaches, Migraines, Sciatica, Low Back Pain, Neck Pain, WhiplashElderly care – Physical and Emotional Conditions

I, Bairbre, Ac. Licentiate. Ac. C. Ac (Nanjing) (M.A.F.P.A)  am a licensed Acupuncturist who initially trained for 3 years in the Professional Practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture at the Acupuncture Foundation of Ireland, training under the Foundation’s many distinguished doctors including Dr Lao Jin Huide of Lincoln University in my final year of training. Having qualified as an Acupuncturist, I travelled to China and undertook postgraduate training at Nanjing University’s International Acupuncture Training Centre at the TCM hospital of Jian Su Province, training under the hospital director, Dr Gu Zhaojun and Dr Qiao Wenlei of Nanjing University. As a registered member of the Acupuncture Foundation Professional Association, I am strictly regulated and patients can be assured of receiving professional, ethical treatment. All treatments are covered by the following health insurers:  Hibernian Health, ETCMA, VHI Healthcare, HFS Healthplus and Quinn Healthcare.  My approach to Acupuncture is purely holistic, treating each individual according to specific symptoms unique to them.  Through the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, I focus on promoting health, preventing illness, and treating health challenges through natural alternatives that compliment Western Medicine treatments. I practice general Acupuncture but chose to specialize in Facial Rejuvenation/Cosmetic Acupuncture, which is based on the time-test

She’s very comprehensive and she’s able to give you the treatment you actually requireAnonymous, Kilcock, 27 08 18

I’ve used Acuhealth on several occasions. In my experience, they’re excellent and very thorough. The woman is a brilliant practitioner who has a good sense of her patients’ needs. I trust her assessment of my medical condition. Treatment is more than good value. I think the doctor’s treatment is exceptional. She’s very comprehensive and she’s able to give you the treatment you actually require. If you need a multifactorial treatment, then that’s what you get, but if you just need straightforward acupuncture, then that’s what she’ll deliver. I’d give her a 5/5.

Acupressure €45 - €60
Acupressure [from Latin acus "needle" + pressure] is an alternative medicine technique similar in principle to Acupuncture. It is based on the concept of life energy which flows through "meridians" in the body.  I n treatment, physical pressure is applied to trigger points with the aim of clearing blockages in these meridians. Pressure may be applied by hand, by elbow, or with various devices. Acupoints used in treatment may or may not be in the same area of the body as the targeted symptom. The Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory for the selection of such points and their effectiveness is that they work by stimulating the meridian system to bring about relief by rebalancing Yin, Yang Blood and Qi (also spelled "chi"). This theory is based on the paradigm of TCM Many East Asian Martial Arts also make extensive study and use of acupressure for self-defense and health purposes (Tui Na). Martial artists regularly massage their own acupressure points in routines to remove blockages from their own meridians, claiming to thereby enhance their circulation and flexibility and keeping the points "soft" or less vulnerable to an attack.

Reflexology
Reflexology is a form of natural, holistic therapy based on the theory that there are points on the feet and hands which correspond to organs, systems and structures within the entire body. This corresponding relationship is called a 'reflex'. A reflex is stimulated at a certain point to respond to another point or area in the body. In reflexology by massaging these specific reflex points one can bring about balance of the eight bodily systems in order for the body to work together in harmony and unison and thus creating a feeling of well-being. This treatment is relaxing and non-invasive, it is ideal for those of us with busy stressful lives, as it balances the body to restore homeostasis or equilibrium. This is often the treatment of choice for expectant mothers who need to literally take the weight off their feet.
