I had Functional Endoscopic Sinus Surgery (FESS) performed by Dr. Sema Koç, and I am extremely satisfied with the entire experience. From the very first consultation, she took the time to explain the cause of my chronic sinus problems, reviewed my CT scan in detail, and answered every question patiently. Her professional yet caring approach immediately gave me confidence. The surgery itself was very successful. Dr. Koç used modern endoscopic techniques to restore proper sinus drainage while preserving healthy tissue as much as possible. The operation was smooth, and I experienced far less discomfort than I had expected. My breathing improved significantly, the constant facial pressure disappeared, and the frequent sinus infections that had affected my daily life became a thing of the past. Treatment with hearing aids, but especially with hearing implants requires repeated programming or so called "fitting" sessions in order to gradually fine-tune the settings of the hearing aid or processor. Settings will be individualized, to ensure best hearing performance. Patients and their families will also be briefed on how to use the processor or hearing aid and how best to take care of it.

Our specialists will look at your individual medical history and examine the functions of your ear. An otoscope is used to examine the ears and illuminate the eardrum, so that the surgeon can identify normal landmarks and pathology. In addition the use of tuning forks as a gauge of hearing may sometimes be used as part of the consultation. However, sometimes it is required to undertake formal hearing tests to ascertain a more exact level of hearing, which are then undertaken by our Audiologist. Occasionally the eardrum and canal need to be viewed under magnification and a microscope can be used to provide this. The microscope allows for binocular vision, depth of field and the use of microsuction if necessary, to remove wax or debris from an ear canal.

The overall goal of sinus surgery is to improve the drainage pathway of the sinuses.  By opening the natural drainage pathway of the diseased sinus, the frequency, duration and severity of infections should be reduced.
