Nose Bleeds

Frequent and recurrent nose bleeds (epistaxis) can be a cause for concern. Dr Lau can perform investigations in the clinic to ascertain cause. He may also sometimes advise further investigations which may include scans. Treatments could include in-clinic procedures including silver nitrate or painless radiofrequency cautery.

Dr Lau is a leading practitioner in the investigation and treatment in reflux-induced voice loss and hoarseness. Conservative treatment is always the first line in sinusitis with antibiotics, nose sprays or tablets. If your sinusitis is not improving, sinus washouts or functional endoscopic sinus surgery may be considered as an option to clear the sinuses and widen the drainage holes endoscopically. Certain tumours of the nose and sinuses can also be treated endoscopically.

Adenoid Removal

Adenoidectomy is surgery to remove the adenoids to treat impaired breathing through the nose, chronic infections or earaches, and sometimes snoring and sleep apnoea in children. Radiofrequency adenoidectomy provides safe, accurate, and up to date means of surgery

 

Tonsil Removal

The tonsils may be removed when they cause recurrent infections and sore throat, or obstruct breathing (e.g. obstructive sleep apnoea). They are sometimes removed when infection causes abscess formation, or to diagnose certain cancers. State of the art radio-frequency removal helps to reduce pain after the surgery.
