Ocean Dental Playa del Carmen-US Certified Dentist

(877) 959-7551 Playa del Carmen, Playa del Carmen
Rating from 5 Reviews I am happy with my teeth and the care once I actually got to sit in the chairCathy, Canada, 08 Jan 18

I was told the first appointment was for a consult and impressions and the second appointment would be to put my veneers on. Turns out they wanted 4 days of appointments. The 1st appt consult, 2nd impressions and teeth prep, 3rd apply veneers and 4th appt a checkup. Being told only two appointments when I requested info at home before was maddening as I scheduled my holiday activities around this. They picked me up from my hotel on time. But lots of waiting! Too much waiting. The amount of time you’re here, double or triple it. My email confirmation said I needed at least 25% down but when I was there they said they wanted 50% down and that they don’t do 25%. Also expect a couple extra charges, they always want to clean your teeth before they do anything and I wasn’t told that before I went in there. The clinic itself is clean and professional. Many employees spoke English but during the times the doctor was reviewing, everything they said was in Spanish so I didn’t know what was going on. The dental assistants were very good and take good care of you. I am happy with my teeth and the care once I actually got to sit in the chair. But it got frustrating waiting because I was also on holiday. I would go back to this clinic but I would prepare myself for longer and more visits next time.

Dental Implants from $900
Dental Implants Are The Conservative Approach To A Bridge. Dental Implants Has Its Pros & Cons Just Like Any Other Procedure. With A Dental Implant You Can Avoid To Shave Down Two Healthy Anchoring Teeth & Go With A Single Crown, The Fact Is That With An Implant In Most Cases You Have To Wait From A 4 Month To 6 Month Period While The Dental Implant Aosseointegrates To Your Bone Before It Can Be Rehabilitated & Restored. Once The Healing Process Takes Place After Placing The Implant, You Can Return To The Clinic Where They Will Slightly Open Up Again, Remove The Healing Cap, Screw In The Abutment, Take An Impression, Have The Final Crown Made & Placed. One Of The Pros Of Having A Dental Implant Rather Than A Bridge Is That If For Whatever Reason The Crown On The Implant Were To Break, Chip, Etc... It Would Be A Whole Lot More Affordable To Replace That One Crown As Opposed To Replacing Lets Say, A 3-Unit Bridge (A Bridge Has To Consist Of At Least 2 to 3 Units, A Bridge Can Consist of As Many As 12 to 14 Teeth As Well). In Some Case There Are Other Treatments Required Before Being Able To Place A Dental Implant, Such As A Sinus Lift, Bone Graft, Membrane, Extraction, Etc... Please Keep In Mind That These Procedures Are Not Included. A Dental Implant Has A Starting Cost Of $900 USD For The Surgical Phase (Which Is The Placing Of The Implant) After 4 to 6 Months When You Come Back To Get The Implant Rehabilitated You Will Responsible For Covering The Cost Of The Abutment Which Has A Starting Cost Of $100 USD to $250 USD In Some Cases, Also You Will Be Responsible For The Cost Of The Crown Which Has A Starting Cost Of $350 USD Depending On The Material You Choose.

DentalSPA

Calle 1 Sur was, esq. 10 Col. Ave Centre, Playa del Carmen, 77710
Rating from 2 Reviews I would definitely recommendKaren, Playa, 23 Mar 14

While eating popcorn, I somehow lost part of a filling. Dental Spa is a very modern clinic with all the apparent equipment that my dentist back home has. He was very gentle while numbing, and he even put green glasses on me to diffuse the bright light. I would definitely recommend. My friend recommended Dental Spa to me after having extensive dental work done include whitening!

CAD/CAM Dental Restorations
The term CAD/CAM is literally a shortening of Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) aka "a crown in a day." The CAD/CAM machine provides the dentist with restorations, which are milled from blocks of white composite resin or porcelain, matching the shade of the restored tooth. Once the treated tooth is shaped and prepared, an image is taken of this defected tooth. The image then provides the data for a computer and the software is used to create a porcelain or resin composite piece for the defect, essentially creating a virtual restoration. The software then sends this virtual data to a milling chamber in the lab where the dental restoration is carved out of a solid block of composite resin or porcelain. The resultant restoration can then be adjusted in the patients mouth and cured/bonded in place. Following acid etching of both the underside of the restoration and the topside of the tooth itself (which increases surface area on both opposing surfaces), composite resin materials are then used to fuse the resultant restoration to the tooth, completing the restoration process.

Dental Crowns
Dental crowns are restorations that protect damaged, cracked or broken down teeth. A crown strengthens your existing, damaged tooth so as to preserve its functionality. Dental crowns are also commonly known as caps (because a crown sits over your existing tooth, covering the entire outer surface).
