I hope this review helps someone who is really afraid of dentists like me due to experiencing dental trauma as a child. It took me a very long time to finally go and see dentist, which resulted in me losing six teeth on my upper jaw (three teeth on each side), and one tooth on the lower one. This surgery was done two years ago in the UK under general anaesthesia due to my dental phobia. It was a nerve-wracking day, but knew it has to be done as I was suffering with lots of dental pain by then. Good news is I don't remember anything from the surgery and felt fine after physically and mentally. Finally got rid of those rotten teeth and the pain. My only dilemma was what to do about the gaps on my upper jaw as they were showing whilst me talking or laughing, and I became very conscientious of it. I decided to contact and visited numerous clinics in the UK for implant treatment, and all of them quoted me over £10,000 I couldn't really afford. In the end, I started to search on the Internet for dental clinics abroad. I heard and read about Budapest as one of the best places to go for implant treatments. I managed to find a dental clinic in Budapest doing implants and travel over there two weeks ago. All I could say is clinic was good and friendly but sadly they didn't do treatments under general anaesthesia. Basically, it wasn't right for me. Back in the hotel room, I started to search for dental clinics doing treatments under general. I contacted many of them, but nearly all said they only do local anaesthesia. Around lunch time I found Dare To Smile clinic, and by 3pm I received a phone call from Viktor (Patient Support officer) who arranged me to see Dr. Laszlo Koronczay straight away. As I walked in, I shake the doctor's hand, telling him promptly I am very nervous patient, and there is no other way to treat me than under general anaesthesia. He just smiled and put me straight at ease, replying, "I have plenty of experience with patients like you. Don't worry, we will help you", and right next to him stood the very caring nurses, Maria and Charlotte, also trying to reassure me. On the same day, I was examined, X-rayed, and an imprint of my both jaws was done. I was also told I don't need any bone graft and all I need is four implants on my upper jaw, one crown, and a few fillings, and I will have a new smile within five days; also, no need to worry about my wisdom tooth which was causing me pain for a while. They could all sort it out for me under general anaesthesia, and the price tag for all of it just under £5000. I couldn't believe my luck. This clinic could load me with new teeth nearly straight away! No bone graft required! And it's not as expensive as other places and staff is so professional, caring, and friendly. Anyway, next day I was taken by Miki and lovely nurse, Maria, for a CT scan, blood test, heart monitoring, etc. to make sure I was suitable for surgery, which I luckily was, and surgery was set for a few days' time. I turned up fifteen minutes before treatment a bit nervous, but as soon as I entered Dare To Smile clinic and seeing welcoming, friendly, and very caring people around me, I knew it's going to be all right. True, as I don't remember anything from the surgery at all. When I woke up, I expected to be in lots of pain; surprisingly, I wasn't. Only felt a slight pain on the side where my wisdom tooth was taken out, but when it comes to implants, I felt no pain at all. Came for check-up two days after surgery. Dr. Laszlo said surgery went very well and he is satisfied with the result. So was I and still am. Then he loaded temporary crowns which are going to be replaced with permanents in six months' time. All I could say is I can't believe how I let this fantastic doctor Laszlo putting this crowns inside my mouth without putting me to sleep. He totally gained my trust in such a short time and really changed my life with his friendly, kind, not forgetting, very professional approach, managing to change my attitude toward dentists. I will have to report how I am doing in two weeks' time, and look forward to my next visit in March.
This clinic changed my life. Very professional and friendly staff. Treatments are much cheaper than in the UK, and you can get a new smile in five days as they promise. I would recommend it to anyone who suffers or doesn't suffer with dental phobia.
