What are Varicose Veins?

Varicose veins, also known as varicosities, are thick and dark blue or purple veins that are seen in the lower limbs of patients. They are caused by damaged or poorly functioning valves within the veins. Surgical and nonsurgical procedures are used to treat varicose veins.

How are Varicose Veins treated?

Varicose veins are treated by making patients wear compression stockings, by helping them to lose weight, by sclerotherapy, injecting  a chemical into the vein to make it collapse, laser and radiofrequency assisted procedures, phlebectomy procedures, where veins are removed by making small cuts on the surface of the skin and by surgical procedures involving tying or stripping of the varicose veins.

Are Varicose Vein treatments painful?

Minimally invasive treatments for varicose veins are performed after administering local anaesthetic to the treatment area. Surgical varicose vein removal procedures are performed under general anaesthesia. Patients will not feel any pain during the procedures.

When will I recover after Varicose Veins treatments?

It takes about five weeks to completely recover from minimally invasive and surgical varicose vein treatments.

What care is required after Varicose Vein treatments?

Patients should take all prescribed medications correctly. They should wear compression stockings to prevent blood clots. They should not wear tight clothing or high heeled shoes. They should elevate their legs while sitting. They should not smoke or drink alcohol. They should not gain weight after varicose vein treatments. They should avoid strenuous exercise and lifting heavy objects for at least two weeks.

After a few treatments I feel so happyKristii, Australia, 06 10 21

I finally made the decision to see Dr Kemp for treatment of my spider veins. My legs have been covered in these veins since I was early teens and made me feel older and self-conscious…. After a few treatments I feel so happy and Dr Kemp was always super professional and gentle and explained the treatment really well. The staff and little practice are also really welcoming. I highly recommend a visit if your after affordable vein treatments. Thank you!

I cannot recommend this treatment enough to anyone wanting to fight sagging skinRachel, Australia, 15 06 21

I literally cried with happiness when I saw the results of the Ultherapy! I was so pleased with the dramatic decrease in my jowls and the hanging skin under my chin, even the drooping skin in front of my ears. I then had the skin tightening treatments in the following weeks and this has tightened the skin around my chin, jaw and neck areas even more. I cannot recommend this treatment enough to anyone wanting to fight sagging skin.

Sunshine Vein Clinic - Hugo Pin

Sunshine Vein Clinic

Maroochydore, Australia
The clinic specializes in the most modern treatments for spider and varicose veins on the Sunshine Coast.   Our non-surgical vein treatments offer far better long term results than surgical vein stripping.  Recent studies have shown that the five year recurrence rate after vein stripping is 50 to 65%. Surgical stripping also carries the risk of side effects related to general anaesthesia and prolonged immobility that is never present with newer non-surgical methods. Our clinic located on the Sunshine Coast offers vein treatment options that do not require hospital admission, general anaesthesia, or a prolonged recovery period. Patients typically experience minimal pain, and can return to work within a day or two. The five-year recurrence rate for vein treatment procedures like ours has been reported to be only 8 to 10%. Dilated facial capillaries and rosacea can be treated with our revolutionary Vein Gogh system. We treat large varicose veins daily, using walk-in, walk-out procedures only: endovenous laser, ambulatory phlebectomy, vein glue, ultrasound guided sclerotherapyWe also offer a large range of Cosmetic Treatments like: - Facial rejuvenation : muscle relaxants and dermal fillers - Lips enhancement - Jaw line tightening - Rosacea (Vein Gogh Thermolysis) Hands rejuvenation (removal of unsightly veins, dermal fillers, sclerotherapy) Thread lift (Non surgical facelift) Liposuction
