Lotus Counselling's goal is to provide a safe and non-judgmental environment for clients who may be facing a range of difficulties such as anxiety, trauma, depression, self-esteem issues, grief etc. It can be a courageous step to turn to a stranger for support. Counselling offers a space where you can uncover your inner strengths and identify life goals based on your individual wants and needs. We can offer you a safe place to gain awareness and insight, as well as learn strategies to manage uncomfortable thoughts, emotions and behaviours. I am trained in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy which means I do not follow one particular discipline or school of thought. Rather than a 'one size fits all' approach I find it more beneficial to integrate a range of different theories and techniques based on the individual client's needs. These include but are not limited to Humanistic Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness-based Therapy, Gestalt therapy and Psychodynamic theory.

We provide therapy and counselling for anxiety and depression, couples and families, low self- esteem, problems caused by loneliness, obsessive thinking (OCD), bereavement and loss, anger, stress related issues and work related issues. We offer psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and humanistic therapies. Fiona Smith. I hold an Honours Degree in Counselling & Psychotherapy, a post graduate Diploma in Clinical Supervision and I am accredited with both IAHIP and IACP. I am also registered with the Irish Council for Psychotherapy (ICP). My core training is person-centered and psychodynamic. I also have training in other approaches from the more practical such as CBT, mindfulness and stress management to the more philosophical such as existential therapy. I have a private practice in Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin allowing me to offer services for people living in South Dublin and Wicklow. I provide counselling and psychotherapy for adults on a one-to-one basis.
