I trapped a nerve in my back two weeks ago whilst on holiday in Club La Santa, Lanzarote and went to Jamie for help. (He had previously “rescued” my neck and arm 4 years ago.) The severe pain went through my hip and into my thigh. Two doctors on the island had misdiagnosed the cause of my symptoms. Jamie is knowledgable, careful and produces very good results. Now back in the UK, my great GP agrees totally with him and praises my progress.

During your treatment you will be asked to disrobe to a level in which you feel comfortable (such as to your underwear or sports wear) so that your osteopath can see your spine and pelvis. Towels will be provided for your comfort. Your osteopath will examine you and may carry out appropriate orthopaedic and neurological tests as appropriate for your presentation. Your tretament may include joint mobilisations or adjustments to improve their function, soft tissue massage to improve blood flow to the injured area, exercise prescription, dry needling, sports taping or for more subtle conditions cranial osteopathic techniques.
Osteopathic Consultation 1 up to $102
Your initial consultation will last 45 mins (this includes treatment). During this time your osteopath will take a full case history which will include your past and current medical history as well as details of your current presenting condition. You will then be examined this will involve asking you to move your spine or limb etc through its range of movements. Appropriate orthopediac and neurological tests may then be carried out to aid diagnosis. Further movement analysis may then be assessed by your osteopath by them moving your joints for you which helps them to see what your joints can do when your muscles are inactive. Your osteopath will then explain to you their findings and how they wish to address your discomfort. They will then proceed with treatment or refer you for further investigations if appropriate.

I’m frequently asked the question “What is the difference between an Osteopath and a Chiropractor?”.I some times wonder “What is the difference between two Osteopaths?”.Both Osteopathy and Chiropractic came into being in the USA in the 1880's.Both Chiropractic and Osteopathy use Spinal Manipulation.Both Professions have developed more subtle forms of treatment such as Applied Kinesiology (Chiro.), Cranio-Sacral Osteopathy and Visceral Manipulation (Osteo.).Currently, in the USA, Osteopaths are considered the same as Medical Doctors. They are very different to British Osteopaths, who still work in the traditional way, i.e. Hands on.Chiropractors in the USA work the same way as they do in the UK.Osteopaths train at one of 3 full time schools in and around London, doing a 4 year degree.Chiropractors train at the Anglo European College of Chiropractic in Bournemouth, doing a 5 year Degree.Both professions have overseas graduates working in the UK.Differences between these two Professions can be difficult to identify.I know members of both professions who see patients very frequently, having them pay large sums of money up front.I also know Chiropractors and Osteopaths who are very genuine, honest and caring people. I was very impressed with the makeover of the building of Total Health. The receptionist was friendly and helpful. The first visit was free whilst Neil assessed my needs as he explained what the main issue was and we agreed on a treatment plan. I was given exercises to do which was explained and was given a printed instructions and pictures to follow. I had 3 visits to Neil who was friendly and professorial at all times. I was also advised of items to purchase to help with my issues. I would recommend Neil to anyone.

Even though ten people may have been diagnosed with the "same" condition, ten different remedies may be needed. Homeopathy is a very individualised therapy and no two patients are truly the same.
