Short review: Great communication, great service, very clean surgery, very competitive prices, friendly and very knowledgeable. Highly recommend!!!
Long review: I was going on holiday to Candolim in November 2024. I had a partial top plate that needed some teeth adding to it. I put a post on Whatclinic.
Goa Dental Studio was the first provider to respond to my ad. Initially, I was told that what I had asked for would not be possible, informing me that due to the number of teeth I required, a new plate would be the only option.
I was hesitant at first. The next few responses I received from Whatclinic all stated that they could do what I had asked. However their prices they were quoting were about the same as Goa Dental Studio had quoted for a new mould and plate.
Why would a dentist offer to do more work for the same price?
Before I go any further, I must say that the clinic itself was very clean, with all of the equipment I have seen in british dentist surgeries present. NOTE: Please take your footwear off outside. This is a fairly standard request in many places in India for hygiene purposes.
After doing further research, I found there was plenty of anecdotal evidence to support what I was being told by Dr. Mahi, with regards to needing a new plate made. Something that wasn't mentioned by almost any of the other responders.
She laid out a plan for the work. This was as follows.
Day 1 Monday:
1st appt initial in person assessment and confirmation of service plan. Agreement on price and payment schedule (deposit and final payment). Take moulds. Confirm colour choice.
2nd appt. Checking fit of initial wax plate.
Day 2 Tuesday: Teeth had been mounted to wax plate to check for fit and aesthetics. This is not the final plate being used but gives a great idea of how the final plate will look and feel.
Day 3 Thursday. Final fitting of completed denture.
The whole process took a grand total of 5-6 hours out of the 6 days that I spent in Candolim. This included an additional check on Friday. I had a little gum soreness after wearing it for 24 hours. Dr. Mahi had already taken this into account, having told me to just turn up on that morning if there was any discomfort. The Dr made some slight adjustments, which really helped. I got some Bonjela to aid with the soreness. The soreness began to ease almost immediately and, over the next few days, would continue to improve. My gums needed time to adjust to the new denture.
I now have a great-fitting denture, absolutely no soreness, and a great smile.
I could not thank Dr. Mahi enough, and I highly recommend her surgery and services to anyone!
