Born in 1959, after leaving school I studied dental medicine from 1978 to 1983 in Göttingen and qualified with distinction. After graduating, I practised as assistant in various established dental practices which included several years in the highly renowned private practice of Dr Joachim Schulz-Bongert in Düsseldorf. It was there that I completed a postgraduate training in restorative dentistry. Since then, I have actively pursued further education and postgraduate training with various US dental specialists. In 1990 I opened a practice in Düsseldorf. In view of the growing importance of the holistic dental approach, I carried out detailed studies in the field of naturopathy and completed training courses in homeopathy and acupuncture with the corresponding certificates. The rapid developments in dental materials and therapeutic methods gradually convinced me that one dentist can no longer become absolutely first-rate in every field of dental medicine, but rather that the growing trend is towards specialization on a few carefully chosen sectors. Only in this way can a dentist hope to achieve excellent treatment results and provide dental care at top international level. It was for this reason that in 1995 I moved my practice to Bad Homburg to specialize as member of a dental partnership.
