This year, as I celebrate my 20th year as a plastic surgery consultant, I decided to treat myself to a big gift. I've been in this industry for a while now, and I've seen a lot of surgeries and watched how patients recover after them. As a result, I've picked up a lot of information about facelift surgeries over time, so now I have pretty high standards when it comes to choosing a skilled surgeon. Surprisingly, right after I got out of the hospital, I went out to eat with a friend and drove to the grocery store like I always do. How? I'm not sure if it's just how my body deals with surgery, but I didn't have any bruising and the swelling wasn't too bad, so I felt fine going out. Apart from a bit of swelling, I didn't feel any pain and it was almost surprising how normal I felt after such a major surgery. It's been 20 days since the operation. The scars around my ears are getting lighter, and I can feel the skin becoming softer as time goes on.
