Intralipotherapy with AQUALYX  is a treatment to sculpt the body. It is not a treatment to lose weight but to shape those areas of unwanted fat that are resistant to diet and exercise or are related to estrogen activity, such as the hips in some women.   This is an alternative to liposuction for some patients that are not interested in surgery and it is a permanent treatment which causes the destruction of fat cells in the place of infiltration. This treatment can be performed in any area of access fat, to shape the body. However, the most common areas are the hips, abdomen, buttocks and the so-called love handles, arms, back or chin. The treatment works best in small areas, and more than one session is usually required, depending on the desired result. There is usually a gap of 3 to 4 weeks between sessions. Following treatment you may experience some bruising and swelling in the treated area, this is temporary and usually lasts only a few days. It is not a painful treatment and involves the use of a local anaesthetic. A consultation is required to establish which areas can be treated and to give you an idea of how many sessions will be required to complete your course.
