She has a special interest in fertility & pregnancy and has trained with fertility and pregnancy experts Zita West, Jani White, Debra Betts, Dr. Trevor Wing and Sarah Budd. She received a Diploma (with Distinction) in TCM Gynaecology & Obstetrics - Acupuncture from Dr. Trevor Wing. Maria is a founder-member of the Zita West affiliated acupuncturist network, established in Ireland in 2009, and is a founder member of AFPI (Acupuncture for Fertility & Pregnancy Ireland). She also has a Diploma in Chinese Herbal Medicine. AcuWell clinic in Ranelagh is open on Saturdays & Sundays, by appointment, for IVF embryo transfers. AcuWell also has a clinic in Athlone, Co. Westmeath on Wednesdays. Acupuncture treatments are recognised by Irish health insurers.
