Fertility Acupuncture €55

Electro-Acupuncture
Electroacupuncture is quite similar to traditional acupuncture in that the same points are stimulated during treatment. As with traditional acupuncture, needles are inserted on specific points along the body. The needles are then attached to a device that generates continuous electric pulses using small clips. These devices are used to adjust the frequency and intensity of the impulse being delivered, depending on the condition being treated. Electroacupuncture uses two needles at a time so that the impulses can pass from one needle to the other. Several pairs of needles can be stimulated simultaneously, usually for no more than 30 minutes at a time. Electro-acupuncture is particularly good for pain relief and tension and I often use this treatment for musculo skeletal conditions.

Lisa Morrissey Acupuncture

The Northbrook Clinic, 15a Northbrook Road, Ranelagh, Dublin 6
Rating from 1 Review Highly recommendGiovanni, Dublin, 09 Oct 13

Hayfever Allergy I went to Lisa to treat allergies, which in the past had started as hay fever and developed into skin rash when stressed. I was given steroids by a doctor which masked the effects until I stopped taking the steroids and never actually cured the condition. Then I found out about Lisa and had 6 sessions with her and she also made up a prescription for a herbal remedy which sorted out my hay fever and skin rash problems. I highly recommend Lisa and have recommended her to friends with muscle and joint problems and they have all had amazing results from her.

Computerised EnergyTesting Health screening includes 30 minutes of a unique opportunity to be screened by a premier computerised tool that analyses and documents the energetic status of Acupuncture Meridians. Equipped with this invaluable information, the practitioner will analyse your condition. Traditionally, acupuncture diagnosis was performed by feeling the pulse, inspecting the tongue and observing the patient. Modern methods employ advanced technology to analyse the meridians, locate imbalances and select treatment points. A computer probe is used to measure electrical resistance at 24 points on the hands and feet; this unobtrusive exam takes about 2 minutes. The resulting computer analysis gives complete information and recommendations helping your practitioner develop a more accurate picture of your energetic health. Should you wish to get a health screening only or first, before deciding on the acupuncture treatment itself, we charge 20 euro .This will be deducted from the treatment price if you decide to go ahead with the acupuncture treatment. You will get a printed report of your energy testing filled with colourful fascinating charts and detailed information on your overall energetic health. Patients are screened at every treatment to analyse and track their progress, therefore providing the most suitable treatment for the healing of the given complaint.
Fertility Acupuncture €50 - €70
Acupuncture 4 Women specializes in women’s health, helping women through each stage of pregnancy, from pre-conception care and support during infertility treatments, through pregnancy and birth, to successful post natal care. Of all the available treatments for infertility, acupuncture isnt one that people usually think of first, but it’s actually one of the safest and most effective treatments for infertility known to modern science. Why does it work so well? Because infertility isnt usually a physical problem. Its often an issue related to circulation or energy channels that govern the vitality of your body’s organs (including reproductive organs). Rebalancing those bioelectric channels can create enormous healing changes in the function of your reproductive organs. Fertility issues Up to 60% increase rate of successful IVF, IUI..  Pregnancy related conditions Pre birth treatments Post natal careWhichever stage you are at, we are here to provide a helping hand every step of the way. We will help you and your baby to have the best pregnancy possible Some of the women I treat are not able to get pregnant because they are not ovulating.  It turns out that acupuncture can have a powerful effect on the ovaries. Acupuncture can increase blood flow in the pelvic region improving the blood supply to the reproductive organs, improving the quality of the uterine lining and nourishing the developing follicle. Acupuncture has a normalizing effect on reproductive hormones. It reduces the effects of stress on the body and lowers stress related hormones that can impede ovulation.
Auricular Acupuncture €50 - €70
Auricular acupuncture (on the ear) is capable of producing results comparable to those of drug therapy in the treatment of infertility. Unlike regular acupuncture, auricular acupuncture focuses only on the ear. There are over 200 acupuncture points on the outer ear. Most of these points are named after a part of the human anatomy. The outer ear is essentially a switch board to the brain and when acupoints on the ear are stimulated, they trigger electrical impulses to the specific area of the body that is being treated. Auricular Acupuncture is the part of the regular acupuncture treatment you will receive in our clinic and involves no additional cost.

Increase Fertility with Acupuncture. There are many reasons why couples have difficulty conceiving - irregular menstruation, hormone imbalance, cold uterus, low sperm count to name a few. Whatever the reason infertility can be a major cause of stress and hopelessness in otherwise healthy couples. Acupuncture combined with herbal medicine has been used for centuries to treat the causes of infertility. Acupuncture in particular has been known to dramatically increase fertility by regulating the menstrual cycle in females and invigorating and increasing sperm count in males. A German Study conducted in 2002 used two groups of woman experiencing fertility difficulties, to determine the effects of acupuncture on IVF treatments. In the first group acupuncture treatments were carried out 25 minutes before embryo transfer and 25 minutes after the embryo was inserted into the uterus. In the second group no acupuncture treatments were given. Study findings showed a successful pregnancy rate of 42.5% in the first group of woman compared to 26.3% in the second group that had no acupuncture treatments. This highlighted a significant difference of 16.2% between the two groups of woman. In each Care Cure clinic we look for the underlying problem of disharmony which is preventing conception. Treatments for fertility difficulties and male impotency usually include acupuncture, acupressure, moxibustion and herbal medicines.
Acupressure €10 - €40
Acupressure is a good alternative for anyone suffering from a phobia of needles as it follows the same principle as acupuncture. It works by stimulating the same acupuncture points on the surface of the body but instead of using needles, the practitioner will apply pressure with the hands. Acupressure is an effective method of improving blood circulation and repairing tissue damage throughout the body. Via nerve stimulation acupressure can induce relaxation and improve skin tone, ease tension in muscles and joints, repair facial lymph damage and generally tone the body. For this reason it is often used as a facial beauty therapy. Acupressure has also seen considerable success in curing insomnia, lessening fatigue and dispelling back and joint pain.

Acupuncturist Consultation
Acupuncture Acupuncture is arguably the best known branch of traditional Chinese medicine, as a treatment, it can be traced back 5,000 years. As a form of stimulus therapy, acupuncture is an integral part of Traditional Chinese Medicine to restore health by way of correcting imbalances in the body. Acupuncture aims to regulate the meridians or channels of the body to re-open the Qi or energy of the body that may be blocked. Meridians (or channels) are a complex system of lines running over the body linking various points on the body’s surface. The Meridian system distributes Qi, Blood and Fluids around the body. Each Meridian has the same therapeutic and diagnostic associations as a particular organ of the body. There are two types of Channels: the regular Channels (called the Jing Mai) and the smaller offshoots of the main Channels called the collaterals (or Luo Mai). There are 14 main Meridians, one for each of the Organs, plus the governing and reception vessels (Du Mai and Ren Mai respectively). These help to regulate the flow of Qi and Blood. Tiny needles are inserted into the body at specific points. The sensations associated with acupuncture cannot be likened to pain, depending on the acupoint, sensations can vary between a pinch and an expanding feeling of the relevant area. At Health and Harmony, we only use one-use sterile acupuncture needles. We have found acupuncture to be the most popular form of TCM treatment when it comes to musculoskeletal pain but it should not be underestimated in treatments for infertility, respiratory conditions and digestive well-being.
Fertility Acupuncture
Fertility Undoubtedly, the area of fertility is Health and Harmonys Number One specialism. We understand how trying and frustrating infertility issues can be for any couple. Our chief practitioner, Dr Jane Li has had over 25 years of experience in reproductive health and is a TCM expert in the field ranging from conception, each trimester of pregnancy to post-natal care as well as male infertility issues. Fertility issues can be caused by underlying health conditions such as uterine fibroids, blocked fallopian tubes, endometriosis or polycystic ovaries. Infuriatingly, they can also be unexplained. At Health and Harmony, our treatments aim to complement whichever path you have decided to follow to conception. You can opt for TCM alone or TCM can assist in raising the chances of success with in-vitro fertilization. Traditional Chinese Medicine sees fertility as the balance of Qi, Yin, Yang and Blood and problems can be treated on the basis of a careful differential diagnosis to resolve underlying patterns of disharmony. There may be either a "deficient" condition that leads to poor nourishment of the body and organs or an "excess" condition that obstructs the organs and energy channels. Often, the stress of attempting to conceive can be counter-productive. The statistics published by the Fertility and Sterility medical journal has estimated that 26% of women undergoing IVF became pregnant following the procedure compared to 43% who received acupuncture before and after IVF. This equates to a nearly 50% increase in effectiveness of IVF combined with acupuncture. Treatment with TCM is highly individualised and comprise of a mixture of both herbal medicine and acupuncture. We prefer to treat both the male and female partner, in our experience, even without issues of sperm count and motility, the additional boost can speed up the process significantly.
