Dublin Psychotherapy - Psychology Clinic in Ireland

Dublin Psychotherapy

62 Lower Baggot Street, Dublin 2, D2
Rating from 15 Reviews For the first time ever I felt being a peerLuca, Ireland, 30 Jan 17

I was treated by Marcello from Aug/2013 to Jan/2016: 1.5 years. I was diagnosed Dysthymia and Cyclothymia with bipolar mood. Marcello treated me with cognitive behavioral therapy. I had never thought I would have been able to live ever in a society and I had never thought I would stop going to my therapist. Today I celebrate my first year from my last time at Marcello's: I can say loudly I am able to live on my own, to observe myself, to be aware of what's around me, of the traps of my minds. I can see I am free now, and it took time! It took 2.5 years, but I made it. Today I went back to Marcello's just to say Thank You and to tell him about my current life. For the first time ever I felt being a peer. Thank you, Marcello!

Individual Psychotherapy €90 - €120
Personal therapy is a way in which an individual can address any issue in their lives that is causing them distress. Each person, in their own unique way, has the potential to overcome their present difficulties. Working regularly with a trained therapist in a safe and non judgmental environment can provide a setting in which someone  can engage constructively with their struggle and discover a more creative way of living with less emotional baggage to hold them back.
CBT - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy €70 - €90
What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy? Cognitive Behavioural Therapy has been the most widely researched therapy. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a type of therapy that involves addressing a person’s problematic thinking styles and behaviors. It is based on the idea that how we think (cognition), how we feel (emotion), and how we act (behaviour) all interact together. Specifically, our thoughts determine our feelings and our behavior. Therefore, negative thoughts can cause us distress and result in problems. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy helps people to develop alternative viewpoints in order to tackle their problems. Developing alternative viewpoints is the cornerstone of the CBT principle that there is always more than one way of seeing things and therefore a person chooses their own viewpoint. This type of therapy has been found to be helpful in: AnxietyPanic attackDepressionAcrophobia and other phobiasSocial phobiasBulimiaObsessive compulsive disorderPost traumatic stress disorderStressRelationship problems When we change the way we think for the better, this in turn, contributes to how we view and react to situations around us. It also helps to bring new clarity of thought to help make better decisions for ourselves and others.

Aidan Lakes MIACP MACI - Psychotherapy Clinic in Ireland

Aidan Lakes MIACP MACI

Rating from 1 Review I can see a great improvement in my own behaviourJenny, Ballyduff, Tralee, 10 Feb 16

I recently had some counselling sessions with Aidan for panic attacks. Aidan is very understanding, approachable and most of all very easy to talk to. He makes you feel at ease right from the beginning and does his utmost best at all times to reassure you and help you understand your own thought processes. I was very apprehensive about counselling in general in the beginning as I feared it would be very formal, all note taking and analyzing everything I did. However this is not the case as to me, it just feels like I am having a nice chat. I think this is why you can feel at ease right from the beginning with Aidan. From having these sessions I can see a great improvement in my own behaviour, which I am delighted about. Aidan has helped me to control and monitor my panic attacks, which I'm very happy to say have decreased immensely since starting the sessions with him. I would highly recommend Aidan to anyone considering counselling. Was chosen as part of an Employee Assistance program offered by my Employer. The place is easy to find being in Dublin City Centre, not far from St Stephens Green where the sessions take place on the top floor of the building.
