Dr Sudhir Daya

Job Title:
  Practice Therapist
Biography:
He graduated, with distinction, as a chartered physiotherapist (MCSP), from the University of Cape Town. He worked at the prestigious Sports Science Institute of South Africa prior to coming over to the UK. With 10 years experience, Sudhir specialises in sports injuries, performing arts injuries, musculoskeletal conditions, ergonomics, occupational health and stress management. Neuromusculoskeletal conditions tend to be multifactorial in nature and thus a multifaceted team approach is required to completely address them. In order to provide a holistic management for his clients, Sudhir has trained in a variety of treatments. He is trained in acupuncture (eastern and western approaches), electroacupuncture and cupping. He is a certified Gunn IMS practitoner and has completed a MSc in traditional Chinese medicine with distinction and as such, is an advanced member of the AACP. Sudhir appreciates the mind-body interaction in "dis-ease" and is a qualified transformational life coach (in the process of ICF accreditation) to further help clients to make healthy choices. His interest in movement led him to complete a diploma in Kathak dance and become a qualified Hatha yoga teacher and a Pilates instructor (matwork and equipment). Sudhir places a strong emphasis on the re-education of correct movement patterns and has an interest in gymnastics (trampolining and tumbling), aerial circus arts (trapeze, rope, silk etc.) and dance (south Asian dance, ballet, contemporary). Along with Nicky, Sudhir is part of the Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) at The Place and is involved in screening and treating elite level adolescent dancers. He provides workstation assessments to determine the appropriate reasonable adjustments for clients with simple to complex neuromusculoskeletal disabilities, including new and expectant mothers. He has diversified into assessing clients with visual, hearing, learning and post-surgical impairments. Sudhir is a member of ACPOHE and has completed a post-graduate certificate in health ergonomics. He works closely with many other highly qualified health professionals to assist you in achieving your goals. Sudhir keeps up to date with advances in the health and wellbeing field by regularly attending courses, workshops, seminars, conferences etc. Sudhir is part of the review team for the journal of the acupuncture association of chartered physiotherapists.

Dr Nicky Ellis

Job Title:
  Practice Therapist
Biography:
Her 18 year prolific career as a performer and teacher in Britain’s dance industry, led her to retrain as an Osteopath at the British College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2001. Since graduating Nicky has been sole Osteopath at WPPC alongside being Osteopath and Anatomy Lecturer at London Contemporary Dance School (LCDS). She is regularly in demand by international dance and theatre companies and was lead therapist on both series 1 & 2 of BBC1’s ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ and most recently ITV’s ‘Let’s Get Gold’. Aside from dance, Nicky has experience in martial arts, circus skills, climbing, running and gymnastics. She has a vested interest in optimal biomechanical functioning and myofascial release techniques always seeking to identify the cause of pain opposed to simply treating symptoms. Nicky is also part of the Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) team at LCDS where she has been instrumental in devising screening protocols, training and treating elite level adolescent dancers. She now divides her time between Osteopathy, lecturing, and regularly guest teaches contemporary dance and choreographs in UK and Europe.
