In summary, for those who do not want to read it all: this review is positive and ultimately I do recommend this clinic if you want any dental work in Turkey.
They cater for any request you have.
Prices were very fair in comparison, the organisation/communication was very good and reassuring. There are no last-minute price changes from your initial quote unless you want extra treatment. The dentists are qualified and very skilled at their work.
Ask for Idil to organise everything for you.
So let's begin.
I previously had 2 crowns and 2 composite bonding veneers on my upper 4 teeth — put in around 6 years ago in Africa. With time, they changed colour drastically and did not look good.
Even though the "Hollywood smile" is nice on some people, I did not want it for myself and I was reluctant to touch any of my other original teeth (I just wanted to fix the top 4 crowns/veneers I already had).
I looked for a dentist here in the UK and did find a very good one in Manchester — but I was quoted a very high price. So as you do, you ask around, and friends suggested I check out clinics in Turkey.
Let's start by saying there are hundreds out there and all have similar names, so be careful.
I ultimately came across Clinic Prime, which had a high amount of reviews with a high rating on Google. I then checked Trustpilot and WhatClinic.com, and they had similar numbers and consistency.
So I contacted them through WhatsApp and was put in contact with Idil — who, if not for her, I probably would not have gone through with it, as I was hesitant about the risk of getting dental work abroad.
Idil was very professional, understanding, lenient, accommodating. She never pushed or put any pressure, as some other clinics did. She was available for any help, advice, or questions at any time of the day — she would respond even when it was not her working hours.
It took me a few months to make the decision and get time off work, and I would not have gone through with it if it was not for Idil.
They offer a hotel package and private airport pickup and drop-off included in the final price. But equally, if you prefer to organise your own hotel and transport, they will easily subtract them from the quote on the breakdown price document they send you — which is reassuring, as you can see the exact price of everything.
Once you get there on the first day, you say a big thank you to Idil, who has been very helpful. 😂
Then you have a panoramic X-ray, and you review this with the dentist. Together, you revise the plan, and this is when the dentist may offer different or extra treatment based on the clinical exam and the doctor’s experience — again, this is when it's good to know what you want, because in life there is always room for improvement. I knew I only wanted the top 4, so they were happy to stick with our original treatment plan. My only request was that the new crowns I was going to get would look natural and have the same colour as my original teeth.
After that, they immediately start working, and the whole process takes up to 5 days in total.
The only negative, if I was really nitpicking, was that while at the dentist, there would be a lot of discussions between the dentist and assistants in Turkish — which means you are left out, not understanding most of the things being said. They do, however, try to summarise what they said after (especially if Idil is there — she would explain everything regularly), and at the end, I was happy with everything. Also, it is very understandable, as I am in their country and it is their main language — so it’s not really something that should bother you.
Overall, the service was very good. The dentist and his assistants were nice and very good at their work. The whole process was without any pain or complications.
I have sat in many dentist chairs, but this clinic was very nice and clean.
Highly recommend — and don’t forget to speak with Idil.
