Why visit Manila?

Why is Manila a popular tourist destination?

Manila, the capital of the Philippines, has a vast array of activities for tourists. The Rizal Park, named after Jose Rizal, the national hero of the Philippines, is studded with historical monuments.  Manila also has some well-known and historically significant churches and the world’s oldest Chinatown. Manila is a shopper's and bargain hunter's paradise with large malls that feel like mini-cities. Manila offers a wide range of accommodation options for tourists, from super luxury hotels to budget accommodation or self-catering apartments.

Why is Manila a popular international medical tourism destination?

Hospitals and clinics in Manila have world class facilities and offer high quality medical and dental treatments at affordable rates. The staff in the hospitals usually speak English. The hospitals and clinics that offer medical tourism are accredited by the Philippines Department of Health and internationally accredited by the JCI and ISO. They offer low cost healthcare packages combining treatment with a holiday for overseas patients.

How does a medical tourist get to Manila from the airport?

Manila is served by the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. There are taxis and airport buses that take tourists to the city. Tourists who want to travel in the traditional Filipino vehicle called Jeepney can find them waiting for customers outside the airport.

What are the visa requirements for medical tourists to the Philippines?

There are no specific medical tourism visas required for patients. Patients with valid passports and return tickets from the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Kuwait and a few other countries do not require a Visa for staying in the Philippines for up to 21 days. Patients can get details of visa requirements by visiting the website: www.immigration.gov.ph

I smiled proudly on my wedding dayNene, Philippines, 17 08 25

I have been wearing dentures for decades. Since my husband and I will be celebrating our 50th Anniversary, I wanted to look my best on my wedding day. After all, celebrating 50 years is a milestone. I had four dental implants, 3 Zirconia Bridges and multiple Crowns done in a span of 6 months under the expert and skilful hands of Dr. Villanueva and team in Affinity Dental Clinics. I could not be happier with the results. I smiled proudly on my wedding day! Beyond the cosmetics, I appreciate that at my age, I can now eat anything with my new smile. No more dentures! Thank you, Dr. Villanueva and Affinity Dental, for giving me a new reason to smile! You definitely are not only the best, you are also the most honest and kind, caring for me all the way!

Extractions ₱2000 - ₱5000
What is tooth extraction? Dental extraction, commonly referred to as tooth extraction, is the removal of teeth from the tooth socket. It is the treatment of choice when the tooth is already beyond repair and is infected or when the tooth is extremely mobile due to periodontal disease. Tooth extraction is also known as an uncomplicated extraction. This is performed on teeth that are clinically visible in the oral cavity. The procedure starts with the administration of local anesthesia. Upon numbing of the tooth and surrounding structures, the gums are detached from the tooth using a hand instrument called a gum separator. This is to facilitate the access of the next set of hand instruments called elevators. It is a common misconception that when dentists extract the tooth, they pull it out forcefully; however, this is not the case. Dentists use elevators to raise and wiggle the tooth out of the socket using small, controlled movements. When the tooth is already mobile in the socket, the tooth is picked up using the forceps. Immediately after the tooth extraction, the socket is scraped with a small spoon-shaped instrument to make sure that no debris or diseased tissues remain inside. The tooth socket is also flushed with sterile saline solution to guarantee its cleanliness. Slight pressure is then applied to the socket to stop the bleeding usually by biting on a small piece of gauze for 30 minutes. To ensure proper healing after the extraction, it is also advisable to rest for at least 24 hours, therefore avoiding any strenuous activities. Sucking, such as using a straw or puffing a cigarette, should be avoided because the negative pressure can stimulate bleeding. There is a long list of dos and don’ts after tooth extraction and it is best to follow your dentist’s instructions to avoid further complications.
Wisdom Tooth Extraction ₱15000 - ₱35000
WISDOM TEETH REMOVAL Third molars or wisdom teeth are the last set of teeth to erupt. They are called wisdom teeth because they emerge at a more mature age, either in your late teens or early twenties.  Most adults have four wisdom teeth, one in each of the four quadrants. Some people may only have a few, some may have none at all and some may have more than four (supernumerary teeth). Do you have to remove Wisdom Teeth? Wisdom teeth do not serve any purpose in your mouth. They may be safely removed without compromising any function.  Your dentist may recommend wisdom teeth removal depending on how your wisdom teeth are erupted, positioned and how they affect your oral health. What is the process of Wisdom Teeth Extraction? A wisdom tooth extraction is usually an outpatient procedure. The procedure can be simple or complicated depending on the position and the type of eruption of the wisdom teeth. Some cases may require a surgical approach that involves making an incision in the gums and removing bone to extract the tooth.
