Rating from 7 Reviews I was very happy with and rest on another appointment.Oregon21, US, 23 Jan 14

I can say I would absolutely recommend Dr. Aguilera, he is fantastic. I had some fillings done the same day as my consultant which I was very happy with and rest on another appointment. I was kinda scared for few reasons; 1) it is Mexico, 2) I fear the needle (which he was great I didn't feel anything), 3) my fillings failing from not being done correctly. I had been quoted pretty high in Oregon where I live, but he had a reasonable price that I couldn't not pass for not having dental insurance. I work as a dental assistant myself and looking around I felt the great comfort seeing that he uses the same materials as my office does and his awesome inter oral camera. Dr. Aguilera speaks English very well which helped me understand much more. He also helped me learn the correct dental words in Spanish to help me with my patients. I can also say his staff is great very nice. I had my dental work done and haven't had any problems. Thank you Dr. Aguilera :)

Rating from 32 Reviews The best part of my experience was the friendly, welcoming staffMichael, US, 20 Mar 18

I chose Progreso for their location and friendly staff. They did a 3-unit bridge for me and it was absolutely great value for money. The clinic was good. I really liked the place and the people. I didn’t pay a cent more than what they quoted and my teeth are still in excellent condition now. The best part of my experience was the friendly, welcoming staff.

From the Houston area and drove down for an initial consult. I have antibiotic stains but otherwise healthy teeth. I have been considering veneers for many years, but now am learning about zirconia crowns. Very comfortable visit. Dr Alvarez and team listened and evaluated my circumstances then offered recommendation, all the while attentive to my concerns and preferences. I hope to schedule next visit soon.

Rating from 37 Reviews For the first time in my life, I'm LOVING my smile!Cyndy, Houston, 16 May 16

Where can I begin? Let my start off by saying, for the first time in my life, I'm LOVING my smile! I've always wanted to straighten my teeth but the thought of wearing braces at this point in my life, was out the question. I checked into veneers here in the States and let me tell, not cheap. I gave up on that beautiful smile until a friend of mine recommended Nuevo Progeso Dental Artistry (Dr. Rene Rosas) and made the phone call! OMG! Ricardo answered my call and right away I knew I was in great hands. Made an appointment for the following week, 9AM on a Monday. He promised I would be in and out, in 2 days!! I made the drive in from Houston the night before. My family and friends tried very hard to convince me not to go. You hear so many horror stories about the border. I told everyone "I'll be fine" and it helped knowing that all I had to do was call Ricardo once I parked on the US side and he would be waiting for me. He did as promised. The clinic staff was amazing. I got on the chair at 9AM sharp, Oscar looked at my teeth and recommended Zirconia Crowns, a lot better than veneers. I need 14, yes, 14 crowns!! Three hours later, my teeth were filed(drilled) and wore a temporary. NO PAIN! It's one of the reasons I stayed away from dentists, shots, drilling. No!!! They made me feel so comfortable. I returned the following day, 1PM was my appointment. However, there was slight issue at the lab that slowed the tech from having my crowns done on time. No biggie. I used that time to go eat & shop and yes by myself. I just made myself aware of my surroundings. Came back and sat in the chair. Oscar made sure that I was happy with the teeth before they glazed them. Loved the shade I picked as well, white but not too white. More shots and before you knew it, I had beautiful, straight, white teeth!!! I can not express how happy I am with the results. I already have a friend and 2 cousins that want to go and get their teeth worked on by Dr. Rene Rosas and his staff. Thank you Ricardo and Dr. Oscar for new smile. After all these years of hiding my teeth, I have to learn how to smile. I've actually had a few people tell me, "Smile and show them off!! This clinic was very clean, sterile! The moment I walked in, it felt so inviting. The staff are so friendly and speak English. I wanted to hug each of them after my treatment but forgot because I was in tears, so happy with the incredible job they did on my teeth. I will never, ever forget them. I hope to see them soon, I will be visiting when my dear friend decides to go. Even if I just stop in to say "hello". If you're thinking about going to Mexico to get work on your teeth but you are hesitating, DO IT!!! It was so worth it!!!! My only regret is that I didn't to this years ago!!

Zirconia Crown $350 - $450
Now, the Zirconia manufacturers have worked on new crowns that are custom milled from solid blocks of Zirconia and baked at extremely high temperatures so that the completed crown is pretty near unbreakable. Zirconia is 100% biocompatible. It is inert, and the body does not reject zirconia so you don’t have to worry about allergies or adverse reactions.Zirconia Crowns have several advantages of both traditional Gold Crowns and Porcelain.Although Gold Crowns are well tolerated, last long and are a good technical choice, many consumers much prefer to have a natural effect that blends into the overall smile. Many also dont want metal in their mouths. In most cases the choice will be between a Porcelain Crown and a Zirconia Crown.Zirconia Crowns have several advantages of standard Porcelain crowns.Strength and Longevity: Zirconia is virtually indestructible whereas Porcelain crowns are prone to chipping. Crowns have a lifetime of around 10 years. Zirconia should last a lifetime.Cosmetic: Have you ever seen people with a large unsightly black line above their gums? Up until recently most crowns are Porcelain which is Fused to a Metal base. Over time, the metal begins to show more and more and the restoration can look opaque and monochromatic, with the tell tale dark grey line at the crown join. The Zirconia Crowns not only look more translucent, but are much stronger than the Porcelain fused to the Metal posts. The Zirconia crowns are milled from a single block of crystal and can be up to five times stronger than a porcelain / metal fuse.Less tooth Removal: In cases where their is not much room for porcelain build up - for example if an tooth abutment is already quite bulky, a Zirconia Crown can be used because if provides more strength in less volume than a porcelain crown.
Dental Crowns $150 - $400
A dental crown is a cap-like restoration used to cover a damaged tooth. Crowns can give support to misshapen or badly broken teeth and permanently replace missing teeth to complete a smile or improve a bite pattern. They may be molded from metal, ceramic, plastics, or combinations of all three. They are cemented in place and coated to make them more natural looking. Historically, a variety of materials have been used as tooth replacements. The ancient Egyptians used animal teeth and pieces of bone as primitive replacement materials. More recently, artificial teeth have been fabricated from substances such as ivory, porcelain, and even platinum. With modern technology, high quality tooth replacements can be made from synthetic plastic resins, ceramic composites, and lightweight metal alloys.
Permanent Crown $150 - $450
Permanent crowns can be made from all metal, porcelain-fused-to-metal, all resin, or all ceramic.Metals used in crowns include gold alloy, other alloys (for example, palladium) or a base-metal alloy (for example, nickel or chromium). Compared with other crown types, less tooth structure needs to be removed with metal crowns, and tooth wear to opposing teeth is kept to a minimum. Metal crowns withstand biting and chewing forces well and probably last the longest in terms of wear down. Also, metal crowns rarely chip or break. The metallic color is the main drawback. Metal crowns are a good choice for out-of-sight molars.Porcelain-fused-to-metal dental crowns can be color matched to your adjacent teeth (unlike the metallic crowns). However, more wearing to the opposing teeth occurs with this crown type compared with metal or resin crowns. The crowns porcelain portion can also chip or break off. Next to all-ceramic crowns, porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns look most like normal teeth. However, sometimes the metal underlying the crowns porcelain can show through as a dark line, especially at the gum line and even more so if your gums recede. These crowns can be a good choice for front or back teeth.All-resin dental crowns are less expensive than other crown types. However, they wear down over time and are more prone to fractures than porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns.All-ceramic or all-porcelain dental crowns provide the best natural color match than any other crown type and may be more suitable for people with metal allergies. However, they are not as strong as porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns and they wear down opposing teeth a little more than metal or resin crowns. All-ceramic crowns are a good choice for front teeth.Temporary versus permanent. Temporary crowns can be made in your dentists office whereas permanent crowns are made in a dental laboratory.

Rating from 52 Reviews Very professional, staff and clean facilityJaade, US, 08 Apr 18

Met with the dentist and discussed work needing to be done on Tuesday, April 2nd. Had some work done on Thursday and additional work on Friday. So far I am pleased with the work done. I will write another review after crowns are put on in 3 months. Very professional, staff and clean facility.

Zirconia Crown from $400
Zirconium is rapidly becoming the material of choice for dental crowns. It is a remarkably robust material able to withstand the wear and tear of everyday use. More importantly however, it has a translucency that is very similar to a natural tooth. Light is reflected from a Zirconium crown in much the same way.
Porcelain Crown from $220
All-ceramic crowns are just that. They are fabricated in a fashion where their entire thickness is porcelain (or some other type of dental ceramic). All-porcelain crowns been placed by dentists for many, many decades. More recently, a number of engineered ceramics have been developed for this purpose.
