What is a Dental Implant?

Dental implants are artificial screws made of titanium or zirconium oxide that connect the jawbone and a dental restoration like a crown or denture. They are also called ‘endosseous’ implants or fixtures. They are an artificial tooth root. Once implanted, the implant integrates with the surrounding bone like part of the body. Dental surgeons perform bone grafting procedures to hold the implant in place for patients who do not have enough surrounding bone structure, or graft bone to help connect implants to the maxillary sinuses on either side of the nose when placing dental implants in the upper jaw.

How long does it take to fit a Dental Implant?

The time taken for inserting dental implants depends on the bone structure and needs of each individual patient. Some implant procedures take about 15 minutes while others may take up to two hours. Implant procedures are performed under local anaesthesia. Intravenous sedation is used for the comfort of anxious patients.

How long does it take to recover after getting a Dental Implant?

Recovery time after a dental implant procedure may take four to six weeks or up to 12 weeks for some patients. Patients can travel one day after the insertion of a single dental implant. Patients who require multiple dental implants or supporting surgical procedures should wait for around two weeks before travelling. They should meet the dental surgeon to get a certification of being fit to travel before embarking on their journey.

What should I do after getting a Dental Implant?

Patients should rest and avoid exertion after surgery. They should also avoid vigorously brushing their teeth or rinsing their mouth.

What are the alternatives to Dental Implants?

Alternatives to dental implants include fixed bridges and dentures.

Immediate Implant Placement, ceramic Swiss Dental Solutions (SDS) 1600 € - 2500 €
If you have lost one or several teeth, it is essential to restore them with dental implants as soon as possible. Ceramic implants are the most aesthetic and health-friendly solution for your beautiful smile and optimal quality of life.Ceramic or zirconia dental implants are artificial tooth roots made of zirconium dioxide (ZrO2) that are surgically placed in the patient’s jawbone to replace missing teeth. This method of dental restoration is part of a biological approach to patient health because ceramic material is immune-neutral, non-toxic, and does not cause type IV allergic reactions in the body.Prior to implantation, a thorough examination of the patient is performed, and treatment planning utilizes the latest digital technologies: 3D computer tomography, 3D digital dental scanners, implant planning software. Implant guides are produced to ensure precise implant placement.During the implantation, ozone therapy is used for disinfection, biomodulation and PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) are utilized to accelerate healing, thus eliminating the need for antibiotics in most cases.Ceramic implants from Swiss manufacturers surpass others in terms of strength, clinical success, and aesthetic properties. Patients particularly appreciate the final result as ceramics are virtually invisible, matching the natural color of teeth and preventing gum discoloration.
Metal-Free Implants, ceramic Swiss Dental Solutions (SDS) 1600 € - 2500 €
A dental implant is a substitute for a natural tooth root, typically made of ceramic or titanium, which is surgically placed into the jawbone in the location of a missing or extracted tooth root. Implants are used to restore one, multiple, or all teeth. There are various methods to restore a lost tooth, but only implants allow for the complete restoration of both the root and the crown. Teeth are restored without grinding down or loading adjacent teeth. If needed, a temporary tooth or teeth can be attached to the implant, which will later be replaced with permanent teeth.Dental implants offer advantages that cannot be provided by other tooth restoration options, such as dentures or bridges. One of the major advantages of an implant is that it restores chewing capacity. Other solutions for replacing missing teeth, such as partial dentures, do not replicate the same biting force.A dental bridge can last an average of about 10 years, while dental implants can serve a lifetime.

Odontika - Dr Ieva Day-Stirrat specializing in Implants and CEREC

She performed all the necessary work perfectlyMR, UK, 19 08 24

Treatment in April 2024. I had several crowns and bridges to be replaced or refitted. Dr Day-Stirrat also found that a root canal treatment would be necessary on an upper front tooth. She performed all the necessary work perfectly. Dr Day-Stirrat has developed a superb technique in moving on to another part of the mouth every 10 minutes or so. So there is never too much irritation of the gum in one place. The entire treatment - inclusive root canal - was almost painless. The only somewhat painful thing were the injections themselves. During treatment the patient is only moderately reclined - about 45° I'd say. In contrast English dentists have the awful habit of laying the patient flat. Then they are very surprised when the stomach content sloshes about and the patient has a strong gag reflex. Dr Day-Stirrat has an excellent understanding of the chewing motion of the jaws. She adjusted my crowns so well that I am now enjoying the best bite I ever had in 60 years. Background: I am 72 years old. I am carrying 28 ceramic crowns - 15 on teeth and 13 on implants. I have 6 decades of experience as a dental patient in Germany, England, Hungary and Serbia. Dr Day-Stirrat is the best dentist I have ever encountered. I would travel to her practice even if I were living on Mars.

From the first consultation the team explained the full treatment plan step by stepVas, Lithuania, 12 02 26

I had crown prosthetic treatment at Julia Dental in Vilnius and wanted to share my experience. I needed several crowns because some of my teeth were quite worn and previously treated. From the first consultation, the team explained the full treatment plan step by step — materials, timing, pricing, everything. I really liked the digital approach — scans instead of the old school impressions and you can kind of preview the expected result in advance. The crowns were placed very precisely, both aesthetically and functionally. Bite adjustment was minimal, which honestly surprised me, and the crowns feel very natural when chewing. Color matching was done really well too — they blend nicely with my natural teeth, you can’t really tell the difference. The whole process felt well organized, painless and profi. Communication was clear the whole time and all appointments stayed on schedule which I appreciated. Overall I’m very satisfied with the final result and would definitely recommend this clinic to anyone considering crown prosthetics in Vilnius.
