The nose, being at the center ofthe face, can become the focal point of interest when facing people.  As the nose can come in different shapes andsizes and looks, it is but natural to be one of the top procedures, if not thetop aesthetic/cosmetic procedure that is asked for from plastic surgeons. Rhinoplasty or nose job canwidely range from:  making the tip ofyour nose pointy in a Tip Plasty procedure  or smaller, by trimming the wings of aseemingly wide nose with Alar Trimming; to building up a patient’s nose bridge,usually with a Malay nose and some Asian noses, at the same time that a tip plastyand alar trimming is done. A dermabrasion procedure with skin grafting, priorto further contouring the nose in patients with Rhinophyma, multiple lumps onthe nose brought about by the build up of oil glands deep underneath the skinof the nose. Rhinoplasty can be done with theaid of inert prosthetic, medical grade implants silicone or ePTFP (popularlyknown as Gore Tex) or with autologous tissue such as cartilage that can betaken from the ears or from the cartilage of the ribs. For Caucasians, the bridge of thenose may be curved like a parrot’s beak or crooked and deviated to one side andstraightening the top of the nasal bridge or making the nose fall in onestraight line may entail some bone restructuring.
