How it works: A handheld roller covered with tiny microneedles is gently passed over the skin, creating controlled micro-injuries. How does it work? The concept behind needling is the stimulation of new collagen production in your skin. The needle breaks the skin and causes micro-trauma and micro-inflammation. Your body responds by sending blood to the area for healing. As your skin repairs itself, new collagen builds up just below the surface. The wrinkles, lines, or depressed scars plump from the bottom-up without the use of anything artificial. Repeated needling sessions gradually and continually build new collagen to fill-in the treated areas. The gentle stimulus provided by Micro Needling is far more “skin friendly” and thus far more effective than many other more invasive and more expensive skin treatments. Micro-channels seal within hours after application: long enough for new collagen-structures to form within the lower layers of the skin and short enough to allow you to resume normal schedules quickly. This appears to be the end of the story. But it isn’t. Underneath the skin’s surface, much more is going on. In fact, the healing response which begins immediately upon the injury kick-starts a healing process that last for several months, and up to a year. This natural healing process is where all the magic happens. Deeper needle penetrations into the dermis produces better collagen and elastin production. The breaking of blood vessels is also key to starting the 12-month healing and reorganising phase. If the needle only pokes the topmost skin layer and does not reach the dermis, there may be some improvements but no dramatic results. Micro needling is a treatment for the skin using eighteen tiny needles on a hand-held electrical pen, it is moved all over the face injecting and infusing product into the skin, product will be chosen depending on what you want to achieve. There are four different treatment serums to choose from and each aid a different skin concern, although the micro needling works on all areas of skin rejuvenation including acne scarring, pigmentation problems, fine lines, wrinkles, expression lines, enlarged/blocked pores and stretch marks, we choose a serum that will better enhance the concern you wish to treat. A topical aesthetic is used on the area to be treated to ensure maximum comfort, and then an AHA peel is applied to the skin to take away any dead skin cells this will allow for maximum absorption of product whilst needling, after the procedure is complete an aftercare cream is applied to the skin for comfort and healing. After the treatment you can expect your skin to appear red looking similar to sunburn and some swelling may occur, the skin usually returns to normal again the day after, but for some people the redness and swelling can last a few days longer, everybody skin is different. Makeup should not be applied for 48 hours after treatment, so you should be prepared for this and book your treatment when you don’t need to wear makeup the next day.
