What are Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are anti-aging products that are injected into the skin of patients to add volume. They are injected to make skin that is sagging or has become wrinkled because of age look smooth and plump. They are also called injectable facial fillers, injectable cosmetic fillers or soft tissue fillers.  They are made of hyaluronic acid taken from animals or from the fat of the patient. It takes five minutes to an hour to perform dermal filler procedures.

How long do Dermal Fillers last?

Dermal fillers last from six months to five years. They are not permanent and are absorbed by the skin over time.

Is the administration of Dermal Fillers painful?

Local anaesthetic is applied to the skin before dermal filler injections are administered. Patients will feel the pain of the injection during the procedure and after the anaesthetic wears off, for a few days. Some fillers contain an analgesic substance called lidocaine. These fillers are less painful than other fillers.

When can I travel by air after the administration of Dermal Fillers?

Patients should wait one week after getting dermal fillers injected before travelling by air. Air travel can aggravate the swelling and bruising that may occur after dermal fillers are injected.

How long does recovery take after the administration of Dermal Fillers?

Recovery from dermal filler injections may take seven to fourteen days. Recovery depends on each individual patient.

What after care is required after the administration of Dermal Fillers?

Patients should avoid smoking and drinking alcohol until any swelling has subsided. They should avoid touching their face for at least one day. They should avoid going in direct sunlight for at least two days. They should drink plenty of water after the treatment. They should not get any beauty treatments done on their face for at least a week. They should avoid strenuous exercises and lifting heavy objects for at least a month. They should avoid blood thinning medications for a few weeks.  Patients should perform facial exercises for a few hours after the procedure.

What are the alternatives to Dermal Fillers?

Collagen stimulation therapy, some herbal medicines or lotions and micro-current assisted skin toning are some alternatives to injecting dermal fillers.

It is a very quick and relatively painless procedure that has genuinely changed how I feel about meAnna, UK, 07 01 18

I had tear trough fillers just before Christmas and a review this week with Camilla. At 39 years old I had suffered with dark slightly sunken under eyes all of my adult life. I had never had any cosmetic injections before and was very weary of the procedure but after speaking to Camilla decided to go ahead. It is a very quick and relatively painless procedure that has genuinely changed how I feel about myself. I really couldn’t be any happier with the final results. Clinic is very easy to find and has parking available. A quiet waiting room and clean, professional treatment rooms.

What are dermal fillers? Dermal fillers are made of Hyaluronic Acid which occurs naturally in the skin, eyes and joints. When injected into the skin, it aims to replace volume that has been lost with age. What do they do? They are commonly used to help fill out or "plump out" lines around the lips, and the lines from the nose to the corner of the mouth. The effect is that the skin appears smoother, more youthful and firmer. Will my lines go completely? Its not always possible to completely fill out a line. However, treatment will considerably soften the depth and appearance of the line. The benefit of dermal fillers is that this effect is immediate and can last from 6 months up to a year. Is it safe? Unlike anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers are not prescription only products. However, it is important to remember that as they require administering via an injection, dermal fillers should only be administered by an appropriately trained Practitioner and only after a comprehensive and thorough consultation, during which risks are explained and realistic outcomes established. At A.M. Revive, we are committed to providing our clients with a robust and thorough consultation and only use the best available products.
Lip Augmentation from £250
What is lip augmentation? Lip augmentation using Hyaluronic Acid fillers (a complex sugar that occurs naturally in our bodies) creates more defined, fuller and plumper lips and can also reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles around the mouth. Is the treatment painful? The lips are a very sensitive area of the human body. At A.M. Revive, your comfort and customer experience is a priority. It is for this reason that we offer all of our lip augmentation procedures with a full dental block. What is a Dental Block? This is a series of injections similar to what a dentist would give to numb the mouth area. The injections are a local anaesthetic called Lidocaine, which is a commonly used anaesthetic. Your lips will feel numb in 2-4 minutes and will remain numb for approximately an hour. As injectable Lidocaine is a Prescription Only Medicine, your practitioner will discuss any potential side effects with you and ensure that you have the information you need to make informed choices about your procedure. Will I bruise? Because the lips are so vascular, bruising is a common side effect of lip augmentation. It is normal for your lips to be swollen by the end of the procedure and this normally lasts for 2-5 days. Bruising can also develop post-procedure and in some instances can last up to a week. If you decide to proceed with your procedure, it is important to consider both the risk of swelling and bruising in relation to your work and home life. What aftercare do you provide? At A.M. Revive, we are dedicated to providing you with a robust aftercare service that will ensure that you have the support and advice that you need. We offer a free two week follow-up appointment to ensure that your treatment has had its desired effect and met all of your expectations. Should you need to see
