I had small surface veins on the back of my knees, one of the veins was slightly deeper. The treatment was Sclerotherapy. I got in contact via the website, when I was looking for 'vein treatment' clinics. I received a reply very soon after my first contact. The communication was good and they understood my problem. I was arriving on a particular date into Bangkok and had only 5 days before my flight. I asked to make an appointment for the first day, and I was told to come into the hospital between 9 and 2 pm.
On my arrival and I saw the doctor within 15 minutes. The staff was polite and professional. She examined my legs and talked about the procedure and what to expect. After hearing all her answers to my questions, we agreed to do the procedure that same day. It was a simple procedure, and not painful, only a little uncomfortable at times. I had 8c injected to my legs. The procedure was done and I was able to normally return to my hotel.
I had a follow up with them in 4 days, and it seemed all normal. I had a fair bit of bruising and had to wear compression stockings. Not good to wear compression stockings in extreme heat by the way! Not comfortable. After my return home, I was expecting that it would take between 8 weeks to clear up; it has been much longer and I still have visible marks, not exactly like a vein but faint, reddish - bluish marks. I expect them to eventually disappear.
As I sent my doctor the after treatment photos and she re-assured me it was normal. She explained that the results took time and you wouldn't have the results straight away. So to this moment I am not completely satisfied as it has taken a lot longer than expected to clear up, and it still hasnt. I suggest not to do this procedure in the summer months either. I'm still waiting to find out if it was worth it. If it is like this in the next 6 months, I won't be satisfied.
Overall experience was good, and I felt comfortable and understood it the presence of the doctor and nurses. I thought I had done sufficient research into the procedure, but I could have done more. Most posts said that the results take up to 8 weeks. I just went with that, without reading more posts. I really wanted the procedure, but I realize I hadn't expected to wait this long for satisfying results. This is to be continued.
