So far the service has been outstanding. Please note that i have not underwent the surgery yet, due to COVID19 restrictions. However, as soon as i registered interest i was called by Cat, and given all the information necessary. Dr Sutton then took the time to have a lengthy discussion on the pros and cons of different WLS options, answering any and all of my queries. The rest of the team have all made contact, and what i have most liked so far is the transparency and simplified documents supplied, to help me understand each element of the procedure, pre and post-op. It is a very nice feeling to know that there is a group of people who are available and welcome any questions you may have, especially when it is such a major life change. I actually had my heart set on a different clinic, but decided to shop around, and Tonic's professionalism (plus value) swayed me.

Who is suitable for a Gastric Band operation?Whether or not you are suitable for an operation can only be decided after a careful discussion with a Surgeon who specialises in treating obesity. This is usually done by Keyholeor Laparoscopic Surgery. Gastric Banding is a type of weight loss surgery. The size of your stomach is reduced using a band so that only small meals can be eaten and you feel fuller sooner.Most patients will go home the day after their operation.Your surgeon will explain the benefits and risks of having a gastric band fitted, and will also discuss the alternatives to the operation. It is important to remember that your care may be different from how it is described here because it is adapted to meet your individual needs.We have learned that many potential problems after the surgery are related to the diet and most can be avoided byfollowing some simple rules.

In order to add more restriction or malabsorption, two potential procedures to consider are:• Conversion Band to bypass• Conversion Sleeve to bypass• CONVERSION OF LAPROSOCPIC BAND TO EITHER A BYPASS OR A SLEEVE - Revision Surgery • CONVERSION OF A BYPASS TO A LAPROSOCPIC BAND - Revision SurgeryIn the  case of weight regain, or insufficient weight loss, a conversion or also called revision surgery from an initial  weight loss operation to a Gastric Bypass is certainly possible.In most cases a conversion of an adjustable gastric banding to a Gastric Bypass can take place in one procedure. There are circumstances where  two interventions are necessary and this is when the gastric wall of your stomach where the band has been placed, is too fragile to form a new connection between your small bowel and that part of your upper stomach where the band was placed.Here at Tonic we understand and cater to each individual patient’s needs. At theconsultation you will not find counsellors. All consultations are carried outby highly trained Cosmetic GMC Registered Surgeons. We do not charge for Consultations. A very high degree of knowledge and skill is required for awell-balanced opinion about the necessity for the operation in which you may beinterested.  You must appreciate thateven when the advice is not in favour of surgery, it comes from a highlyqualified person who has given his time, attention and experience to yourproblem, consulting, both pre and post-operatively accounts for over 50 percent of surgeons times and good ones do not give this time away.  Neither will they tell you that you needsurgery when you don’t.
