A very positive experience

5 50 Blepharoplasty

I recently had U&L Blepharoplasty in Belgium and couldn't be happier.
When we arrived, Maurice came to our hotel (mix up with airport pick up info) and explained the timings of the consultation, pick up time for surgery etc. We met Bart on the morning of surgery who answered any questions and explained what would happen.
Later that day, Maurice took us to the hospital. Everyone spoke English, all of the staff were very friendly and professional and the hospital was spotless and very modern. Saw Dr Peters before my surgery and asked some last-minute questions. He was very informative and the whole experience went smoothly from going into the theatre, to recovery to discharge. Maurice stayed at the hospital, collected my prescription and drove us back to the hotel. Next day saw Bart again before Maurice arrived to take us to the airport. Nothing was too much trouble. He took us through check-in right up to security (Brussels is a huge airport-glad to have his guidance).
9 days post op I contacted Bart and sent pictures for reassurance and he was so helpful with an immediate response. These people give you their details for a reason. If you have any concerns, just contact them. I did and received a speedy, professional service.
The hotel was actually really nice-we were pleasantly surprised. The staff were lovely and probably see surgical patients a lot so it doesn't faze them. A very positive experience.
I would have no hesitation in recommending BELGIUM SURGERY SERVICES. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Pre sales was good but then never heard from them again

1 50 Gastric Balloon

I opted to go with this clinic for my gastric balloon. The pre sales service was good and everything happened as planned when I travelled to Brussels for the procedure. However, as soon as i paid them on arrival, they checked me into the belgian hospital and i have never heard from them again. Everything was meant to be paid for but i also now have the belgian hospital chasing me for a further 100 euros!
It has now been over 12 months since i had the gastric balloon put in and i have never heard from them once......i have had to get the balloon taken out on the NHS!

Dear Stuart, Each month we organize aftercare clinics in Bangor for all our patients. We didn't see you once there for advice, diets,weight control, follow-up.... We can't force patients to come but it is up to you to make use of this Free aftercare service. The extraction of the balloon is even included in our price but you need to contact us and not the other way around. I regret we 've to hear from you this way as we're the only organisation that actually come to your home country to organize follow-up.The 100€ is an administration fee that you don't need to pay for as this was post to you accidently. mini gastric-bypass and gall bladder removal

An excellent experience to date. I was contacted very quickly by the surgeon and offered a face-to-face meeting within a few days at a clinic in Bangor. I met the surgeon who was spoke perfect English and explained everything to me in great detail and answered my many questions thoroughly. Together we chose the best procedure to meet my particular needs. This meeting was not rushed, in fact I was with him for nearly an hour, but more importantly I did not feel in any way persuaded or pushed into making any decisions immediately, rather I was asked to take time and reflect before getting back to him. I feel very comfortable I have made the right decision to have surgery at the clinic in Belgium, I have confidence in the surgeon and although I could perhaps get the procedure cheaper at an eastern European country, I feel the price is well worth paying a little extra for superior care.

Mini gastric bypass

My treatment went absolutely perfectly. The care I received was second to none, no faults or flaws at all. I had 2 supporters who travelled with me who were also put up in the hotel and transferred from airport to hotel. The staff at this clinic were excellent and so friendly and I seriously don't think I would have received this level of care at home. I had the mini gastric bypass which, to date, I am pleased with. I honestly could not rate Belgium Surgery Services high enough on the scale as it would be well above it. Just excellent all round and very pleased with pre and post surgery.

Gastric Band

In this procedure, a hollowband made of special material is placed around the stomach near its upper end,creating a small pouch and a narrow passage into the larger remainder of thestomach. The band is then inflated with a salt solution. It can be tightened orloosened over time to change the size of the passage by increasing ordecreasing the amount of salt solution. The entire procedure is donelaparoscopically, where a laparoscope is inserted through the abdominal wallthrough small surgical incisions.

It induces weight loss byreducing the capacity of the stomach, which restricts the amount of food thatcan be consumed.

Gastric Bypass

The gastric bypass or stomach bypass is one of the surgical techniques for treating morbid obesity. Alongside purely restrictive techniques, such as gastric banding, and largely malabsorptive techniques, such as Biliopancreatic Derivation by Scopinaro, this is a combined technique.

As with a purely restrictive intervention such as the adjustable gastric band, this surgery is largely a restriction of the food intake, with reduced digestion a less important factor. However, the long-term results are noticeably better than those for purely restrictive surgery. This is due to reduced food intake and a reduced feeling of hunger.

The complication results are published across Europe so all surgeons in the UK know that Chris de Bryune has the lowest complication rate for the gastric band procedure. He worked for a year in 1993 at the Saint Antonius Hospital in Nieuwegein, The Netherlands. The Hospital is one of the most famous hospitals for thoracic and vascular surgery and Chris began work there on the prestigious thoracoscopic program. He also worked as a general surgeon (with the sub-specialisation of advanced laparoscopic procedures) in 1996 at AZ Jan Portaels Hospital in Vivoorde (near Brussels), Belgium. During this time, the surgical treatment of morbid obesity became a major part of Chris’ work.
